Evening all

A break from the mighty Stug, thought I would try a kit with an interior. Its the 'New' Tamiya Marder M, which has the link and length tracks from the Hetzer along with the drive sprocket and new figures. An ideal chance to have a go at an interior!

Tried to replicate damage / wear to the tyres with a sharp knife, wheels are loose as the lower hull will hopefully be heavily weathered, well that's the plan

I have built the ammo box's but will paint and weather separate

Hope its going ok!

Bob,
Looking a lot better than the original, how was the fit of parts?
Cheers, Mike.

I was looking to get this kit myself so I will be interested to see how you get on with the build. I understand the interior and figures are well detailed. Good luck

Morning Bob,

Looks like this has gone together nicely in true Tamiya fashion. I really like the idea of Tamiya adding link and length tracks, hope they go together nicely for you....I know from experience that the Indy links are small!

Have built quite a few variations of the 38(t) chassis but not this.....yet lol:smiling5:
Keep it coming mate:thumb2:

Hi Mike

Very good but will need some filler where one of the shields meets the body, will post a pic.

Morning Steve, the interior looks busy, will leave off all the bits to paint and weather. Never liked doing figures but must face my demons lol

Hi Si used the links and yes fiddly but look good. Get the tablets ready lol. Most of the parts just snapped in place and of course excellent plans!

Thanks all

Hi Bob, good to see a Marder, you don't see those all to often. Seems like a nice kit. Good start!

Nice one Bob, new Tamiya moulds shouldn’t give you any problems for the assembly.:smiling:
Great start and neat damage to the roadwheels.:thumb2:

Evening lads

Hi Wouter, true not many on show. Considering its age the parts are crisp with no flash and of course the great plans!

Hi Allen, like the Czech Stug label lol. Bet it was cold and not a great place to be when the poo is flying around. Kind words sir!!

Evening Fernando, its a typical Tammy, good moulds and fit, but do need a bit of filler, many thanks!

Afternoon chaps

More progress built up the gun and shield, however with the shield added there is not a lot of room to paint and weather etc, so the question is on or off, oh matron!!

Me thinks I will leave the shield off and fit last

Hi all

The Marder is now in red Vallejo surface primer, the shield is loose to hopefully allow me to weather the inside, that's the plan!!

I also primed the ammo box's and gun separately looks a bit dark? next thin coat I might whiten a bit, otherwise pleased

Hi Steve

Thinking of doing a thinner primer layer but slightly lighter but not sure about doing the panel lines as its dark now?
top coat of dark yellow, then cammo
gloss varnish and decals, gloss again
pin wash, weather interior and gun on its own
matt varnish then filters
mud up the chassis then wheels

it can only go wrong
:worried:

Hi Bob, the Marder is going together well, your paint plan looks good, with the camo going on the panel lines will be less obvious. I'm sure you will do it justice.
