I'll look forward to your build Tony. I had to Google Tse-tse mosquito to find out what it was.

I wish I had the time to join this thread. I have a 1/24 Airfix Mossie pleading to be built!
I’ll be keeping an eye on the various build threads. After all, you gotta love a Mossie!
Cheers, P

If any one who is doing the 1/48 Tamiya Mk IV Mossie, doesn't have a canopy mask set for it,and would like one, please just give me a shout. :smiling3:
I ordered the wrong one !!
Free to a good home,it hasn't arrived yet, but as soon as it does I'll forward it on ;)

I’d like to take them if you don’t mind Andy.
This GB is making me look like a right scrounger.

Fun fact of the day. The Australian build mk. VI was given the designation mk40 as in XXXX. (I know that officially 40 was written as 50; L minus 10; X so XL but many did write XXXX
Wonder if it was built in Castlemain. lol

Also why are there not more marks being put out. you can go from a mk II right up to a 40 with a few different bits that all fit to the same original mk II frame...
I know that many can be had as aftermarket parts, have had a few of those, just odd that the mainstream have not capitalised on it (If you are listening Mr Airfix, thats a hint a new tooled 1/48 Mossy that can run from as Mk.II to the mk 40.)

Finally got off my a--e to start this! Spitfire GB progressing painfully slowly but I've sold the farm and have shed-loads of 'fings' to make this new GB progress at a gallop! (I hope!)

Interesting, I'v e always liked the Tsetse and I wasn't sure why they didn't make more of them. Looks as if you've got even less cockpit detail than mine, and is the pilot Douglas Bader?
Pete
Quote from a bigger article about the ''tsetse'':
The main problem with the 57mm gun was that it required a long steady attack run. Starting from an altitude of 5000ft, the aircraft would have to dive at 30 degrees until it was within 1800 yards of its target, leaving the Mosquito rather vulnerable.
The .303in machine guns were retained to help the pilot aim the big gun, which only carried 25 shells.

The rp-3 rocket-carrying planes didn't need the same attack vector, nor the accuracy that the gun needed.
