Just placed my order for this Ju 290 from Revell, I do like Revell kits Looks like it might just keep me busy for a while this one. Really enjoyed my last build and have to say this is fast becoming an addiction, my wife says when I dont have a model to make a pace the floor muttering to myself I think she likes having me in the front room with her instead of going off fishing for the day.

I am hoping that for Christmas I can get a decent airbrush compressor as my little one is getting a bit knackered from all these sudden use its getting.

Here is the box art and Revells finished model boy oh boy hope mine turns out as nice as that one... cant wait to get my hands on this one come on posty..

It's a nice kit Saber. Fits together very well and I found no major issues with mine - until I dropped something on it and broke its back! Looking forward to seeing this done.

Och! That's a shame after all the work that goes into a build like this. I really liked the look of this one and needed something to keep me busy for a while longer then the other smaller kits I have been making looks quite big for the scale.

Seems to be ton of little bits under the wings that will break off so I think I will leave them off while I do the paint job. Question.. is it better to use acrylics for a wash on panel lines or ground up pastel chalks which is what I am doing now. I have a load of acrylic tubs from the smaller kits and thought I could use them for washes as well?

Very excited about this model got it today in the post, its a big one! Bigger then my B17 even! Looks like this is going to keep me busy or a few weeks I hope.

Got all my paints labeled and ready to go. As you can see its a big kit with a total of 299 parts. This will make a refreshing change from all those smaller models I have been busy making and will most certainly be hanging on my ceiling.

The decals look great the paint schemes are also very nice so all round it looks like its going to be a real pleasure to build. Let the fun begin!

:woohoo:

Thanks Trey, the paint scheme will be this one I think not sure yet but this one looks quite nice. One of the gun turrets on the top of the plane was damaged, the canopy part was broken across the side, so narked off about that and not sure if Revell are any good at sending a replacement part. I still have the part but not sure if it can be salvaged with a crack in it. Any how going to place the cover over the gun turret hole for the time being and carry on with the build.

I like that scheme Mark. Shame about the turret being broke, you could try a plunge mold and make a replacement.
