Well I've seen it all now, is there no end to your talents. I was impressed with the spokes on wheel making some time ago, this just takes it to another level.

Morning Steve - not gone overboard with the detail this time. Just enough that can be seen through the door
That's a good photo you just posted - I see there is another ammo rack inside the track unit. Couldn't see that on the pic I used. Also some good detail on the rear wheels

Cheers Jim - I still need to try a Mk2 track link press with built in rivets. If I can get that to work it will be better
Steves photo above showed that the kit tailwheel assembly was a bit lacking - the bar that the wheels attach to is just a solid block in the kit rather than an I beam with holes in it
I therefore pulled the tailwheel assembly off the hull and modified it best as I could to match the photo
Needs a bit of tidying but better than the kit version
The wheels are also missing a lot of rivet heads so I started adding 0.25mm dia. punched lead foil ones

Oh 'eck - thought I'd finished but Peters photos show even more detail and means there are more problems with the kit part
(Whoever scratched that new assembly can't count
- there should be five holes each side of centre on that axle beam)

Great work so far Simon, this extra detailing is something I need to look at in my builds from now on.

Hi John - did the usual. Got home from work 19:20, sat down with a cuppa. Next thing I was waking up at 21:30. Made some dinner fell asleep again at 23:00. Woke up 02:30, fell asleep, woke up 03:15, fell asleep, woke up 04:35, got to bed at 5am, alarm went off at 5:50am!

The joys of fine detailing. It ill be worth it in the end. The wheel is stunning. Great work
Morning all,
been using my time to rebuild the tail section - not finished yet but there is progress
the frame has been rebuilt around the kit part which was first sanded flat to remove all detail
it was skinned with two layers of card then strip was used to create the flanges where needed
it has taken a lot of filling, trimming, sanding to get it to this point
this shows how it fits together with the previously rebuilt axle assembly
the wheels are in the process of getting replacement and additional rivets
