For all you Red Dwarf fans (and if you haven't watched it i suggest you have a look-see as in my opinion it's one of the best British comedy programs) ... i present (hopefully) a fairly accurate (hopefully) model of Starbug 1.
Started by cheating a little and buying some Balls
These are 10 / 12 / 15 mm which gives the correct size difference between the separate pods of the craft.

Using a wooden kebab stick to hold them in position, the three balls are glued (PVA) together.
The rear pod has the back quarter cut away and covered to accommodate the engines and thrusters
Have used a dremmel to bore out some holes that will be needed in the future for housing antennae and "a sensor" at the front.

Quick coat of paint to seal the polystyrene and card .... groovey!!
