Back to a decent plastic figure, and one that I've done before.

The sprues:

100_8991.JPG100_8992.JPG

The usual Tamiya quality. I'm probably just going to go with a field grey uniform as I'm still not in camo mode.

I've got some way with the build:

Everything fitted very well, though some filling was required and there was a lot of clean-up involved.

Onwards.........

Take three, LOL

Back to a recognised old favourite, but a little work already required.

He does have some serious forearms, looking at his pose.

No wonder his sleeves are rolled up, doesn't want to hide those bad boys!

There is some reasonable drapery for some variation in the field grey.

Hopefully a decent head sooner rather than later

Enjoy the paint on another grey grey day, with snow in the wings for later this week

B'rrr, its cold out there!

Regards

Chris - Welcome. New supplies have been sent for.

Steve - I always seem to turn to Tamiya when I need some therapy. This sculpt is all about those fine forearms to be sure. Very cold here, but fairly bright for a change.

Here's what our chap is looking like:

As the head wasn't too exhausting to do for a change I decided to take advantage of the flesh colours on the palette and crack on with the arms. I've also given him a Heer NCO's insignia, including shoulder boards made from foil.

Great progress and some serious forearms too!

Looks like a real grey day today and well sculpted drapery to keep you going.

You'll have to do a side by side with your last version to see how your style is changing, as you seem to be blending much more and getting a subtle finish on your heads.

Looks like we could have a scattering of snow up't Norff, over the next few days?

Have a good day with the paints

Steve - Morning. Very wet and cold down sarf, but the light isn't too bad for some reason. The last version of this is in a box somewhere that has been 'tidied away, by Katherine, so I'll never see it again. Probably just as well. Hunker down and keep yourselves warm.

Jim - Thanks. This chap has certainly been eating his spinach.

Thanks Tim. No more bad puns please.

The jacket:

I used Vallejo Grey Green and Dark Camo Olive for the jacket, the later as a medium tone to blend with the dark Camo Black Brown shadows. Virtually all of the jacket below the belt will be covered with equipment.

Nice work on the field grey variations, is the helmet almost black or is it the light?

Shame you last one is AWOL, a comparison would have been interesting.

WE got a dusting of snow over night!

Its always a Christmas highlight if we get the first snow of the winter before the 25th

It was well forecast and the gritter has been round, not that I am going any where, any time soon!

Have fun with the trousers today and keep warm too

Morning Steve.

We've had a dusting of snow too, which wasn't forecast. Must be Winter then. The helmet is grey, so has been darkened by the camera for some reason. Reed green trousers today, which will be nice to do.

Hope you don't have too much quarantining of deliveries to do today.

The legs:

The trousers were done in my approximation of reed green in order to provide some contrast with the jacket.

OK, mega cheat time. I was working on the bread bag and suddenly realised how fed up I was with painting German equipment. So:

100_9016.JPG100_9017.JPG100_9018.JPG

I had this pre-painted stuff in the spares box, having removed it from a couple of discarded figures. It just needed a touch-up here and there and was then ready to go. That just leaves the ammo pouches and gun to do.
