Hi Steve

Looking very good for the weekend, temperature in the 20s. Whatever next?

Bad day with the paints I'm afraid and this one has gone in the bin. Dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just couldn't make a decent enough job of the lover half of the figure. It was very rough in places and the drapery was poorly done (deftly blames sculptor and casting!). The boots were also terrible, and all in all the whole thing resisted my best efforts with the brush. To be honest, I wasn't at all happy with the top half, so it's best left.

I will do the other two in due course, but will close this thread down in case it's jinxed.

That's just the way it sometimes works out.
There is no point continuing with something you are not happy with.

Ralph - Yes, sorry about this, but I just couldn't make it work.

Neil - It happens. I'll start the next figure on a new thread.

Best of luck with the other ones Peter. Why do the same manufactures generate good figures and other times really bad ones?? Is it different sculptors or just a bad batch??

It happens Fernando...

Steve - This one was by Michael Roberts, not Verlinden. I've only built one other before and that also had some issues, though overall it was better:

I know I go on about this, but say what you like about Verlinden, the quality of their castings was second to none.
