Just caught up after holidays... great work, Ron. Waiting for the cunning plan to become reality.
May I suggest, to have things properly done, to kill Baldrick before you start?

Zulus, Baldrick? Where will this all end up?!

I've slated the terrace roof and battened out a small section. Added the chimblys + flashing and given all the slates a darker blue/grey colour. I've also brushed on a bit of random colour to the brickwork.

The main construction is almost there now.......Perhaps, maybe!

I added a twee for a bit of fun!




Rather than having a bland, squeaky clean one, see how simply lifting the odd slate or two ages the roof.
Note also the different colours on the fascia board. Have to match the doors, chaps!





After adding various reds/browns, I streaked the brickwork by simply using a paint brush lightly dipped in fresh water.


Next, I will try and bring the gardens and back yards to life.....

Just caught this one matey , outstanding scratchery as always! The roof and general joinery are all up to standard , well done that lad . Sash windows are excellent too. Its looking superb , hope it doesn't get too blitzed . I do love a good brick s@*#house too !

Dear A Nuisance.
Thank you for your suggestion re. an Anderson shelter. I refer you to page 6 of this epic journey into nowhere - and beyond.

However my real reason for this letter is to complain in the strongest possible way about your claim to be President of the Anderson Shelter Committee.
I had done some checking and there is no such thing. You sir, are a fraud, imposter and all round bounder to boot!
What is more, you have dared to use my family name in such a way.

My uncle Bert Anderson wrote, amongst others, the following t.v. series. Torchy the Battery Boy, Four Feather Falls and Super Car.

I understand you had a bit part in Supercar. You played the sump plug!

My other uncle, Gerry, followed with Fireball XL5, Stingray and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. His main claim to fame being Thunderbirds.

As you can read, (one would hope) Anderson is a name to be proud of and has nothing to do with those tin monstrosities you refer to.

Please refrain from using our surname ever again or else my Aunty, Matron Anderson will visit you and stick a scale model of Troy Tempest up a certain part of your anatomy with his arms wide open!

I've started work on the back yards/gardens.

Posts are cut down coffee stirrers. These things don't fix well just plonked on the base, so I always drill small holes filled with glue then shove them in.

The ground cover is simply dried sweepings from the drive and garage. When I stuck this lot down, I wasn't fussy about working neatly up to the edge of the yard's flagstones. Makes the yards look a bit 'Untidy', which is what I'm aiming for.

I've also painted on a bit of variation to the flag's shades.

I'm giving serious thought to adding back alley walls running along the foreground. It might sort of finish the front bit off a bit......

Loads of different colours. Luuverrly!

Agree about drain pipes... Maybe use BBQ skewers painted black??

Down pipes, gutters, grids, manhole covers and the like, are all on my 'to finish off' list. But where to stop?!

Andrew, I've looked at skewers and cocktail sticks, but they are too thick, I need a 1/72 scale, 3 inches. I'll probably use copper wire from some gash electric cable I have in the 'stores'

Re. the back wall. I didn't really want to, but I've bitten the bullet and made a start on scribing the brickwork for it.

Some wire at about 1mm will be spot on for that Ron. An off cut of lighting circuit 1mm T and E perhaps? Looking good is this, by the way

Small update.

I've used a length of copper elecy cable innards to make some rain water pipes and a bit of paper bent around a cocktail stick for some guttering.
