Love that radio - a work of art.
Thank you JimLove that radio - a work of art.
And the water tasted awful out of those plastic jerry cans too!!Not sure if they had these in the sixty's, but water was kept in black plastic jerry cans. They differed in shape having one central carrying handle and caps both sides.

So I have had a go at making my own by modifying normal petrol cans.

And finally for today I have painted up the radio set for between the front seats.

Your right it did have a particular taste but it was always cold. Glad you like the torch I still have one with all the filters in my garage. And the water tasted awful out of those plastic jerry cans too!!
The right angled torch is a proper winner.
Don't know how you do it!! Pure brilliance.
Ditto, strange what you hang onto!! Gimpy cleaning kit - personal survival kit with edible candles!!! (Disgusting)Your right it did have a particular taste but it was always cold. Glad you like the torch I still have one with all the filters in my garage.
Those water 'cans came in black and mid-green mate - so mix 'n' match . I have several 1/35 buckshee if you want them - not taking the p but your' cans are good! The photo's are relevant to the sixties however! Not sure if they had these in the sixty's, but water was kept in black plastic jerry cans. Used red nail varnish (available from any convenient RAF base) when the filters had been lost from the bottom screw section of the torch (Anybody remember mini-flares (a little mod makes the launcher a great poaching tool )) - in all my time I never saw the green filter used though! I still have my 'O Group' book somewhere - as you say, strange what we keep! [Wives, overdrafts, worn out shreddies etc spring to mind ]Ditto, strange what you hang onto!! Oh, edited to add the filter for my torch was a red chinagraph!!! Filters were for posh torch owners!!
That had me going!! and yeah, never saw a green filter! Always red. NEVER clear!!!!! Had a watch keeper wake me up one morning for an early launch, shone the clear torch in my face. He nursed a black eye for weeks!!!! Took ages to get my night vision!!!! Currywurst und pommers rot weiss spater.Top-drawer scratchy Bro!!! Looking real good with a coat on her and glad the pink is finally gone...Water always tasted like crap out of those plastic jerrycans back then. We used to paint ours green as they were molded in tan plastic...
Prost and Alles Gutem zum Gerburtstag!!!
