I would go for dark sea grey 70.991?
The good news is no one really knows the exact colour of the grey. Images suggest a neutral but quite dark grey, but not to dark. Easily distinguished from black, so dark sea grey would fit the bill I think.

Wrong colour for the hull bottom 70.991 is lighter than the super structure which is wrong
Are you sure you shook that enough? it looks very pale if that was Dark Sea Grey.

No lol what you can see is unpainted I did a test and It was just to light compared to 70.900 decided to use Tamiya German grey which is just about right Vellejo German grey was too dark.
I'll post a pic when its painted up

I think it looks about right from what I have read. Tone wise the top hull and bottom where very close it was just colour that was the difference. Nobody really knows but I would say it looks right. But you are the one that has to look at it all day. AND mine is still red! lol

Are you sure that steel deck should be that colour?

OK thanks for that...
I can see that if anyone built a HOOD a few years ago, then their efforts are way out of date with all the new info coming forward all the time. Since I finished my one: The underwater hull was grey not red.... Now the boat deck was painted with Cortezen... Repaint on a rigged ship? That ain't going to happen lol.
