I'm using one of those great little Airfix 'Starter Kits', including the paints and glue!






No masking, freehand brush painted using the supplied pot paints. The yellow, although not in the box, is a pot paint from another starter kit. No swasty ticker decals, so I hand ritted them.

Although totally inaccurate, I couldn't resist giving the aircraft a yellow nose and rudder.

Prop. bent simply with the heat of my fingers.

All well mucked up with a grey wash liberally sloshed over the whole model......


No fuss, no dramas. A three day, on and off build gave me this.....




















All near enough for the fate that awaits this aircraft.......

It looks great now , i’m planning a similar thing with the bf109 of Franz von Werra which crash landed in a field in kent , using the same kit but a different boxing. It certainly is mucker. I like all of this range. Great little kits for not much money and I get paints, glue and a brush too!

Today is warm enough to venture into my garage, workshop or tip. Take yer pick!

I've made a start on the beach.
I stuck two bits of polystyrene blocks together. Hacked out a pool and then sprinkled the surface with ordinary builder's red sand and also added a bit of Budgie grit to the surface.










The above are a bit none descript, so I've plonked the aircraft into the pool to give a better idea what I'm at.....I hope I know, that is!







Don't worry about the white strips. They are there for a reason.

Ye Gods! The cornflakes are piled up on the pantry shelf because he's nicked the box, the drive needs resurfacing because he's swept it to within an inch of its life, poor Mrs Ron has a severe case of chuckers elbow and now the poor budgie has to go without !!!! Are there no lengths this bloke won't go to for his hobby!!!

Indeed he was , the only axis POW to escape and return to service , fascinating story , they made a film about it too ( The one that got away)

I remember the film now. I watched it many moons ago. It also came back to me he was killed in an flying accident after getting back on active service.

Raining, so this morning I decided that instead of just a big hole in the sand, I would add a bit of interest to it and make it a sort of rock pool.

The initial work complete, with a bit of scrap iron! Ignore the bare polystyrene.










I then added some green paint













Nearly ready for the lid.

Ian. I think we should tell Tony, the crabs on this beach can jump over 3ft. in the air... Unless he already has some.......
