Just a minor thought. If the tide is coming in from that way, shouldn't there be land in the background?

Unless he came down on the Goodwin sands cricket pitch!

Sorry, I really can't understand your reason for suggesting the composition of the model is somehow wrong. Now't wrong with that, mind. Your choice.

It's just that your post totally baffles me.....I'll leave it at that.

Not the composition, far from it. I'm just overthinking the background. Tides go IN toward land is all, and in my mind's eye I see white cliffs behind...

Now, my partner, former RAF photograper, suggested taking the whole thing down to Dungeness and getting the Channel in the background!
I think THAT would be a bit much. Me, I'd just have a blurry picture of Walmington-on-Sea pier as a backdrop!
