Thanks for your input boys, all much appreciated.

Paul. Good suggestion for the two boats.

I scratch made a cover for the boat on my North Sea Trawler.

....but to attempt to do the same with the two boats well stuck down on their chocks and surrounded by all sorts of 'junk', as on this model, would (for my skill level) be impossible.

So I've come up with something within my capabilities. ;) None the less, thanks for the suggestion.

Update....
A bit more detail painting and masts and railings fitted.

I've also started on some basic rope work.

Total progress thus far.
I've also started the rigging. You can just make out a couple of lengths of wire, whatever they are, coming down from the tower platform.

Mast rigging next.
Thanks for taking a blimp.

Cheers.

Thanks for the excellent posts, chaps.

Rigging started with the main masts.
I used eezee line and glued them with general purpose UHU.

Wonky top mast. I lost count of the number of times I snapped the bl***y thing off - Still not right!

Thanks Chris and Steven.

Main decals done. One of the 'South Goodwin' decals decided to fall apart, but I managed to salvage it. Even without the breakage and being in one length, they were difficult to put on. Then I had the job of piercing both sides to reveal the portholes.

Next, I'll tackle the anchors and their chains.

Just had a catch-up on this 570, and may I say you never cease to amaze me with your efforts. Those rigging wires must have been a nightmare........but they sure do add a lot to the build. Rick H.

Even if I do say so myself, which I do!, This is turning out very nicely indeed, a top drawer effort.

570, UHU for the rigging you say, how to you manage the tension while the glue goes off ? Looks damned good.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments chaps. Well appreciated.

453. As the actress said to the Bishop " I just tighten it enough to take the slack out and wait until it goes hard. Usually only about a few seconds!"

As you know UHU G.P is rapid setting, so as long as the line is not in too much tension (Just enough to straighten it) it soon grabs the rigging. I prefer it to superglue, as I get a short time to adjust the lines to their correct position.

Chris. If it's a nice day tomorrow, you'll get one!....... :smiling4:

Thanks for the interest, boys.
