It's the youngest member of the Scott expedition.
Apsley Cherry-Garrard.
His book was "The Worst Journey in the World."
a book to look out for.
Jon.

Jon's got it.

Apsley Cherry-Garrard. He was part of the depot team on Scott's expedition, but wasn't chosen for the journey to the pole. He stayed at Cape Crozier over the winter, and went on a mad expedition with two others to the other side of Mount Erebus to collect Emperor Penguin eggs. Everything that could have gone wrong did, and the trio only just made it back with their lives. Later he was with one of the teams that went out to meet Scott, just failing by a few miles and it's said that he had trouble living with the guilt for the rest of his life (which ended in an insane asylum). This is a picture taken just after the egg foray:

I'm never sure if the title ''The Worst Journey in the World'' refers to his expedition or Scott's, but it's a fantastic read.

Rammer, sponge and worm...obviously in reverse order LOL
Rammer, to compact the round before firing, sponge, to wash out debris and extinguish burning wadding, and worm for removing an unfired/misfired powder charge...
Cheers
Tim

Got it in one Peter, Walter was possibly the greatest interpreter of Beethoven, and Yehudi was a superb violinist and the seed for my favourite Eric Morcombe one liner....
