Back to the bench again, this is part of the upper bridge, I hate it when Revell put such large overflow bits on small items its a pain cutting them off.

Thought you might like a little information on this one, so hear we go.

LSM-1 LANDING SHIP MADIUM

Laid down 24th December 1943 at Dravo Corporation Wilmington, DE.

Launched 26th Feb 1944.

Commissioned USS LSM-201 14TH April 1944 Lt F.T. McAdams, USNR in Command.

During WW11 USS LSM-201 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.

1, LSM Flotilla Five, CDR W,H. Carpenter USN.

2, LEM Group Fourteen LCDR A.E. Lind USNR.

3, LSM Division Twenty-Seven.

Participated in the assault and occupation of Iwo Jima, 19th Feb to March 16th 1945.

USS LSM-201 Earned one Battle Star for WW11 Service.

Decommissioned 16th May 1946 at Norfolk VA.

Final Disposition sold for scrap 10th Nov 1946.

Well fitted the prop shafts & rudders, next is the part I hate most masking & spraying the hull.

The hull has been lightly sanded so hopefully the primer will stick.

As you can see I am using auto paint Red Oxide primer.

First light layer on.

At this point the outer doors are not glued in place but I taped them in position for spraying, Also I had a misshape while doing this, I droped one of the outer doors & broke off both locating pins so I need to do a couple of wire ones.

I am still undecided as to how to paint this one, after some research I cannot find any reference to LSM-201 ever being painted in camo, the pictures I have showing LSM-201 were taken at iwo jima beach 1945.

Any help on this would be welcome.

Looks good John. As for your camouflage question, the only decent pictures I could find didn't seem to show any camouflage scheme except for one at Iwo Jima:
