Right, let's see what's in here then.

Sprue shots.

Tyres, clear parts, decals, instructions and colour schemes, the other side shows the model in Parade green which is a bit dull after all.

Amuch more interesting way to spend my time.

The main parts of the turret, I will leave the antennas until the end to fit as they look a bit fragile.

Turret more or less finished with the top hull in the background.

Don't you just love kits with very small parts?

Thats enough for tonight as my knees are telling me I have been standing at the bench for too long, must be an age thing. :smiling:

All of the main hull parts with the basic bits fitted, I will put it all together tomorrow.

Another lot of small bits.
49856169403_2a4158667b_b.jpg

As the hull is just an oblong box with nothing in it I thought it was going to be a bit light so I put some sticky balance weights in to steady the model up a bit.

Really looking forward to doing the suspension, each unit has 14 parts and there are 8 of them, thank goodness for TET.

Does not look like much but there is a lot of work going on here with loads more small bits.

Me, small bits and tweezers do not go together well as tweezers tend to make things fly off into oblivion, well mine do anyway.

Going together well, Andy, your crusade to make the Zvezda 1/35 range is progressing!
How is the fit on the Bumerang, the same as the T-90MS?

Stab them (gently) with a sharp knife instead to pick them up. Much less risk of losing them than with tweezers.

Dave, the fit is really good and only bit of flash found was on a sprue. I did have the Pantsir on my list but I may wait until you have built yours as there are lots of truck types out there for me.

Andy,
the first Zvezda 1/35 model that really impressed me was the L4500R Maultier ( half track ). This was the sign that they had upped their game, and had caught up with the Far East - Maultier - The Gaz Tigers are also good little models. I have the Pantsir in the build queue, and the new T34/85 close behind. I was looking at the latest Su-122, but resisting at the moment!

ive used the weight in the hull trick for ages, makes things a little less 'toy like' by adding mass

Been a good boy and spent the last 2 days in the house so I have got on with the model a bit. Lots and lots of parts in the suspension.

49871081606_89c96c61a0_b.jpg

The twin shock set up has 13 parts and the single has 12 so that makes 100 parts to be getting on with.
All done and looking good.
49870551633_66f7e350d7_b.jpg

And all the wheels are on the ground.
49870551983_9921bc8008_b.jpg

Zvezda kits are undoubtebly very good but for one thing, well, two actually, the wheels do not revolve and the steering is fixed but I suppose we can't have everything.
Getting near the time to decide which colour to paint, Parade Green, or 3 colour winter camo?

Andy.

That suspension looks really tricky, and those big wheels hide most of it! Zvezda do have limitations, but for the price, I reckon you can't beat them! You've done the 3-colour camo on the T-90MS, so go for the parade version..............

Perhaps you are right Dave, I did the splinter type camo on the T90 and the green/black/sand on the Grad so this may well end up Parade green.

Totally missed this one Andy. It certainly looks a great kit with lots of parts. You have certainly done a very tidy build. Look forward to seeing the camo

Paint arrived today so I had better get this finished, first coat.
49891260731_02d05f0860_b.jpg

Looks a bit dark to me but that is the colour called for in the instructions, no doubt Mr Race will be along in a minute to tell me I should have used 4bo but I don't like Vallejo paints, with the exception of Metal Colour silver which is really good, but I have only brushed that.
Pondering whether to leave it like that, or go for 3 colour camo?

Well, that did not go too well! Started on the lighter colour camo tonight with crap results, used the paint left from doing the Grad but it seemed to be too thin? No idea why that should be, perhaps it's because I am painting really close freehand because it is way too complex around the suspension to mask and there is too much overspray. I have resprayed the offending bits back to dark green and am almost considering leaving it Parade green, but then again I might be in a better mood tomorrow.

Grumpy.
