Not exactly a flashy kit,but when i showed it on latest Acquisitions a few months back i received a pm from Simon. He said he had the same one in his stash and had a liking for these and intended doing his soon,he also followed this up with an offer to send a load of Refs he had gathered about them,a typical kind gesture of the man.
So i thought it the perfect choice for me to do in this GB,
Cheers Guys,
Andy

Afternoon gentlemen,
Here’s my contribution towards Mr T’s memorial group build.

Ive had this in the stash for a while now and I know the 222 and 223’s where a particular favourite of Simon’s.....

and just to give the thing a tweak in the right direction a bit of bling bling ....

I built the Tamiya Sdkfz 222 ages ago and remembered getting a thumbs up along with a comment that the Tamiya Jerry cans where not correct :confounded:.....good old Mr T! Will have to source replacements then, may even be an attempt at some scratched interior......maybe ;)

Hi all ,saying as Racey beat me to the drop with the BA10 a rethink was needed .I've been threatening a leggo scale job for a long time so stepping outside the tru scale circle and into the darkness I've decided to go with this

Sorry a bit fuzzy took pic without specs on it looked ok at the time? The blurb in the box claims 937 parts on 57 sprues including Hull and27 photo etch, from what I've seen in the box 99% of that seems to be track parts ,I must admit to being slightly miffed at there being no internal detail what so ever ,I've got the 1/72 mirage hobby AT-1 in the stash with full internal you can build it with all hatches open including all the fold down side panels the whole kit probably comming in at under a tenner.
Also I'll run it along side this , seem to remember Simon having a right mare with the paint job ,but if your watching Simon NO I'm not going to replace all the grab handles (well depends how guilty I feel Simon was good at that I used to curse him surprised his ears never caught fire ).

Sorry David. Oh you will so love building those tracks, :smiling3:;) Hobby Boss have some great Russian armour but they insist on seperate tracks. Love the train, Simon had a real battle with the winter wash if I remember right.

A truly wonderful response from so many. Shows what high regard people had for Simon. Thanks to Lee for overseeing the GB.

This GB could well end up with 40+ modellers taking part and therein lies a bit of an issue. Starting on November 1st this forum is going to see so many memorial model threads that unless I spend hours each day on the forum I am not going to be able to look at and comment on all the builds. I will do my best to keep on top of what everyone is doing but please don't think I don't care if I click 'Like' rather than post a comment. It is simply a matter of time. I doubt I'm alone with this concern.

I'm still waiting for my kit to come from the Ukraine but the day it arrives it will be 'bench cleared and box open' :tongue-out3: I am sure Simon would want us all to have a really fun time.

Completely understand. I have the same issue myself with keeping up.

Jim./ All. Thanks for the complement the GB I’m hoping after November 1 will run it’s self like most GB. I too will be one that can’t comment on each one but I will try to throw likes when I can. I have a feeling this is going to be a fun GB. Thanks to all of you who join in this GB I tried to put everyone’s name on the list but you can edit just do many times Once again Thank You
