"How much wood would a woodchuck chuck
if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
He would chuck, he would, as much as he could,
and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would
if a woodchuck could chuck wood."

Researchers at Cornell determined that a woodchuck could chuck about 700 pounds - “Compared to beavers, groundhogs/woodchucks are not adept at moving timber, although some will chew wood." A wildlife biologist once measured the inside volume of a typical woodchuck burrow and estimated that — if wood filled the hole instead of dirt — the industrious animal would have chucked about 700 pounds’ worth.”

Additionally, though, how much wood could a wood duck duck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Matron! I need some more meds!!

453.
Warning!
Just look behind her at the trophies she's won.

Perhaps for needle insertions or 'similar shaped objects! :cold-sweat:
I was very concerned 570 with those trophies, I hear from PAUL in the bed next to me that she's won many of them for long distance throwing of the hypo.Needless to say we now are watching out for her .
Stay safe 570 look to the front and don
John

That balsa effect does look good.

If that doesn't work out, this landed in my YouTube feed today...

.
Funny you should mention this video, it was the last one I watched.

Catching up on threads again so late on this. Superb work John, love the base and well, all of it. Top work so far.
Welcome Si, thathere's not been much happening while this thatch was being debated and experimented with .Things are
Finally some relief
Yes spot on there Lee, was starting to think it was going to be impossible .

Looking good John Sounds like your crowd is getting wild.
Yes Lee, but with Matron about to arrive along with that new member of her staff I think they will settle down !

Bummer Dude 2, Rick H.
It was indeed Rick, I'd set the new phone setting to the lowest but that seems still too large, now it's the settings on the PC photo app I need to change after I up load.

John,
that's really good! - reminds me of my grandfathers' small holding - he built little storage huts all over, from whatever wood he came across, adapted to the hills, trees etc, which he incorporated into them. I remember it was always muddy, and there were flower pots, broken mangles & 'useful' pieces of wood everywhere!
Dave
Thanks for the comment Dave.

Looking good John! :thumb2:
Steven
Thanks Steven .
Hi John
By 'eck Mr Race that is looking good. The building, the mud - very convincing.
Jim
Cheers Jim ,very kind of you, at least I haven't had to do any tracks on this .;)

OMG! The thatch has come out really well. Well worth all the research. Love the rocky base as well. Top work all round my friend
Steve, kind of you to say, have to up my game to match that T34 .:smiling2:

Looks excellent John. Glad you sorted the thatch out, it really contrasts well with the wood roof.
Thanks Tim, all down to Paul's help.

Top work for sure 453. :thumb2:

Turned out really nice,

570
Why thank you 570, not bad for an old wood butcher :smiling3:

Just excellent work Dzohn.
Thanks buddy.

Excellent woodwork and gardening John! No surprises there!
Pete
Thank you Pete, appreciated.

John,
That has turned out great my friend. All the elements work well.
Paul firstly thank you for the suggestion, it really did help , glad you like it .
Looks fantastic :thumb2:
Cheers Gerry .

Very well done Mr. Race..........and the corner joins look the Bomb Sir! :thumb2: I'll notify the inspector to call off his "hounds", as they were on their way to condemn the premises. The fire warden will be 'round later on to check that all precautions have been taken regarding the flammability of "said" thatched roof, and to ensure complete safety to future occupants in case of any "unplanned" conflagration. :tongue-out3::tongue-out2::tongue-out::thumb2:;)
Rick H.
Oh no not that damned fire warden Rick, mind we have a new deterrent in the shape of Miss Hotlegs , winner of the hose chopping championship 2009 to the present. Thank you for calling of the building inspector, he won't see the lack of foundations now ! :smiling::smiling::smiling:
More excellent work John, well done.

Andy.
Thank you Andy .

Photos need to be smaller than 2mp I think John.
Thanks Tim, I'll check on the PC tomorrow. I can alter several things,I know pixels was one ,using the size of the photo. I did try that , and the last photo was allowed but one more was refused .

There is no hope for some Steve, I would suggest a cold shower followed by a lie down in a darkened room .;) I hear the bed next to Paul E is vacant, the occupier has left the building .
Coming on nicely John. Great work.

Andrew
Thanks Andrew, as I said to Tim, will check the PC program tomorrow .
Really fantastic details in there
Cheers Gerry.

Thanks everyone for the comments , a great mojo lifter if there ever was one .
As you could see the split logs were being done of a sheet of greaseproof paper, rather like you would do grass clumps. Hopefully when finished it will lift off in one piece and be placed on the base .Never tried this before but if it works for the static can't see why it won't , time will tell.

Then there will be the figures, proving to be a lot harder than my old method of applying the paint .
Thanks
Dzhon .

Yes it is 4X4X8' do you measure in inches or "centipedes" JR?
Rick I had to convert when using measurements for the machine's and setting out. But still use inches, of course Management refuse to change from inches, all that foreign stuff .

I doubt the saying CORD is used by many out side of the timber industry and normally it appears to be used for fire wood.

[/QUOTE]

That reminds me a fact really happened in my youth.
Scene: classroom, English language lesson, beginner level, teacher Mr. Collinsplatt (R.I.P.), pupil Mr Puddu (typical sardinian family name, fictional but very similar to the real one).
Teacher: Mr. Puddu, I'm posing a question with your surname as subject, you will pose the same question changing subject from yours to mine. Ready? (the teacher explained that in his rather good Italian, of course).
Puddu: Yes, teacher.
T.: What does Mr. Puddu do?
P.: What does Mr. Collinsplatt splatt?
Then the whole classroom exploded in a roaring laugh. When we old pupils meet we still mention that cheerful moment.
Sorry for the thread interference John, your work is amazing and I'm following your progress with interest.

I saw something similar in a French film once...........the word phrase of henceforth was reiterated as "hens forth" by the pupil. Some things do get lost in translation.....
