Morning Peter

Hope the sinusitis has calmed down?

Great progress on the figure too, double camo is such a fashion faux pas!! LOL

The attic is clear and the stash has been logged, whoopy doo!!

My desk now looks worse the either the garage or the attic were!!

Looks like another clearing up day but at least the worst is over!

Should be a good day to finish the equipment with all the bright weather

Have a good day with the paints, if you are better?

Regards

Loving this one Peter. Had a letter look at the camp jacket. That can't have been ready to achieve.

Keep up the good work.

Paul - Many thanks for looking in.

Steve - The sinusitis continues; once it's there it can take a couple of months to clear, with plenty of ups and downs on the way. Yesterday was a down.

On to the gear today, which I should get finished. Then the base, and I've decided to use the one supplied with the kit. Hope you get the cleaning up finished.

Andrew - Thanks Andrew. I've got a bit of a method going with camo now, which is to treat each patch the same as a plain uniform ie. shading and highlighting it individually. It's easier to achieve with simpler, broader patterns like Italian camo.

The figure is finished:

I ended up swapping the kit gas mask canister and water bottle with spares - as with quite a lot of the detailed areas on this kit those parts were slightly under par, making it difficult to get a clean finish.

Just the base to do now:

Thanks Jason - I'm glad I didn't attempt to do the whole figure in the helmet camo.

Another great result. I agree, the helmet is particularly good! Was it particularly time consuming, or not completely enjoyable?

Thanks Jack.

I find spotty camos difficult, because I'm not good at reproducing patterns and they demand some accuracy. I can have a perfect bit of reference in front of me, and attempt to copy it as exactly as possible, but end up with something that's more my own invention, as here.

To my eye, your own invention is pretty convincing!! But I understand reproducing that on a larger surface area...

Many thanks Monica. Camo has the advantage of adding a bit of colour.
