Just when you thought it was safe to come on here I'm back with my next build. As I need to practice on my figures I have decided to do a little scene using the veritable old Tamyia Field kitchen nick named the gulasch kannone. It contains 3 sprues 1 for the figures and cooking pots and two for the cooker and limber. They are moulded in the soft grey plastic that Tamyia used to use. It is a little soft on detail and showing it's age, but that suits me as I like to add a few bits as you know.

I have made a start finding pictures of this showing good detail is quite hard and they all seem to be slightly different in their construction. So using the box art I have added a little detail from plastic card wire and pieces of etch from the spares draw.

I added this one to the stash not long ago as an Amazon order filler to get free delivery on a small item that would otherwise have cost less than the postage

This is the newer version with new figures but no horses

Should make a nice little vignette

Great stuff Scottie. I made this OOB a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed doing so. Nice start on the detailing.

Hi Simon, I chose this one as I have enough trouble painting figures let alone a great big horse. I trust I can count on your guidance during the build. I was also thinking about adding a schwimwagon tot he scene as well but will see how it goes.

Hi Peter, I think I remember seeing it. Glad you like it so far.
Looking forward to this one. All the best with the figures

Paul, I can see this having the full treatment if the start is anything to go by.
Front seat and turn up the heat please it's like autumn in these parts .

Hi john,
having fun with this one as a lot is down to poetic licence. Seat at the front is reserved and I have thrown a log or two on the fire.

Been having another play today. I wasn't happy with the kit chimney so I have replaced it with some evergreen tube. The top was flared out and as it folds for transport I cobbled together a hinge mechanism and a pot lid hook. Some ember trays were made from scrap etch from the bits box and added underneath with their retaining chains. The front of the wagon had some hasps added to the lids. A handle was added to the draw under the what I believe was the coffee grinder which was fitted inside and a handle to the same was made and added outside. I may remake this as a picture I have found shows this as a crank and not a flat item.

Very nice indeed mate. Big fan of your detailing. Really is coming on well. Have you considered a rim around the top of the chimney?

Hi Scottie, I remember building this OOB in one of my first dios and detail was good. Didn't think it needed detailing until I saw this...wow.

Cheers,
Richard
