Paul thanks, the issue with the canopy is that it is made up of of several parts and unfortunately you can see the joins that have internal tabs. The only way round this is to mask the framework extra wide to cover this up here's the canopy I built back in 2012. It looks fine but I thought I would give the resin one a go, plus it's also bit of fiddle to construct them. The resin version is cast as one so there's no problem with the framework. All the decals are complete just the rudder to mask and spray red and a decal of a swastika this one needs to be on a white circular background I have various sizes from Xtradecal.

Rudder complete and a final coat of Klear applied. Swastika had to be cut in half prior to applying this work well. next up a clay wash and then a matt coat to finish.

Still no news from AllyCats re:- the canopy so I've made a start on the kit canopy. As I said before the canopy is broken down into nine parts that have to be glued together and held at the right angle this was done in situ on the fuselage. The first two sections can be done on the fuselage but the last section which the middle section slides over is better glued and taped and then sat inside the sliding section to guarantee a perfect fit. Once this last section has set (24hr) I can then start the painting process. This a bit of a drawn out process but this is the only way I've found works.

Yep you hit the nail on the head, you might say a labour of love. This is the only part of the model Revell didn't get right. As with the last Arado I've had to mask it wide so the fixing tabs don't show.

Allycats now have the resin canopy back in stock a bit late for my build as I've already completed and attached mine:confused:. I have ordered one that also includes canopy masks and decal masks, which I can use on the two float version that's in my stash. It might be a while before I build it but at least I have one.

Its looking really good Vaugah. What are your plans for the rigging? I remember with my two float version how, with a bit of pre-planning working slowly as I went and using fishing line, it worked out really well.

Hi Vaughan
I appreciate that 1/32 is a scale which perhaps allows more detail but this build is stunning. The painting/finishing is beautifully done. As has been said the canopy must have tested your skills and patience.

Barry, Jim thanks this version is slightly different in the fact it's has a single float. I have already predrilled the underside of the fuselage and the float stays but still will have to experiment on how to best thread the rigging. Ian I would order soon as I don't know what his stock levels are, they only became available over last weekend

Have attached the main float to the fuselage using the stand and tape to hold all in place. Hopefully all is lined up correctly? As there is only one float there is no rigidity with the stays until the glue sets so fingers crossed everything lines up. Once the glue has set I will make a start on the rigging.

The float is now secure taping seems to have worked it appears in line with the fuselage. I have started on the rigging all is threaded and ready for securing with super glue maintaining the tension will the difficult bit.

I'm on a bit of a roll the rigging is complete and I managed to maintain the tension on the line. Next step is the wings and wing supports and we're almost there just the wing lights another tail light plus canopy/tail fin Aerial masts and cable. It's a year to the day when I started the build but I don't think I'll finish today:confused:
