Looking VERY good. I zoomed in on that first photo, which you posted on its own and thought that could easily have been a photograph.

Keep up the good work.

Tim - I get it now.

Lee - They're supposed to be for the dog, but John has grown partial to them.

Andrew - No zooming in now, things get pretty ugly close-up.

Neil - Funnily enough, I knew what Andrew meant. If you're leaving, could you take the bins out?

Morning Peter

Well done getting back on to the production line with another lovely and well blended head.

A field grey day today, to match the weather, another grey and dismal Autumn day ahead, but warmer weather this weekend to come!

Just a few spots of colour with the medals and ribbons, the breast pocket medal looks really unusual?

Can't say I have ever seen anything like that before, nothing on a quick internet search either?

Have a good day with the paints

regards

John - Many thanks.

Steve - I suddenly realised that I've developed a sort of glazing technique with flesh - strong base colours gradually lightened with semi-transparent overpainting. A lot of looking at classical portrait painting.

The medal is a Spanish Falange party badge:

Another grey one here, but hopefully enough light to get the cap done at least. We've got tree surgeons in the garden this week and the chain saw noise makes it hard to concentrate.

The next stage:

Cap and collar today. German caps are always a challenge with all of that white piping, but fortunately the sculpt was pretty clean., which helped a lot.

Sorry Peter, did some zooming in again!

And again was not disappointed..... He says knowing he has a long overdue eye test next month! ;) :smiling5:

Seriously though a great start as always.

Peter. I have to agree with Tim very crisp and I like the green band on his hat it really pops.
