Definitely better. I think the deck would not have been too dark. It would be bleached by salt water and regular scrubbing by the crew.

Could you use actual wood stain? Ok you couldn't varnish it first 'cause the stain needs to soak in. THIS is water based and they do tester pots. Might be worth a go Being water based you could perhaps dilute it with water for a lighter effect.

Hi Mark, god, i hope not! Just checked the first deck is fine, phew!!Progressing nicely bob, this is just a thought and I have no experience of wooden decks whatsoever but if it gets a bit to wet in one go is there a possibility of it warping when drying out? Like I say just a thought.
