It's in those eyes, great work.
I've bought Joe some dog biscuits, just to be on the safe side.

Andy - What else am I going to do with my sad life?

John - The eyes, the eyes! Joe is now your friend for life.

Well it's been a struggle to get this far. Well worth the hard effort as the face is outstanding

Hi Steve. The clean up work seems to have done the trick, so painting should be OK. Trying to negotiate bench time with my daughter and granddaughter - my wife's at work today so we're a carer down.

Look like you have a really good head start with your replacement head!

He really does have a vicious sneer too!

Looks like a denison day today or when you have negotiated some bench time.

Seems to have got quite warm with the tail end of the Iberian Storm Barbara too!

Have a good day with the paints

Regards

Hi Steve. Yeah - he ain't bovvered is he?

I managed to negotiate some bench time, so here's the Denison:

The basic colours for the camo pattern were Vallejo Russian Uniform, Saddle Brown and Deep Green, all darkened and lightened with Camo Black Brown and Off White.

That's coming along nicely despite the casting issues you had at the start!

Lovely work on the smock Peter

I have noted the colour combo too, as I have quite a few 1/35 paras in the retirement stash.

Looks like your negotiating skills are well honed, hopefully another good session today?

The weather is still awful and so grey too!

Have a good day

Richard - Cheers matey.

Steve - Thanks re the smock. Should be able to get the trousers at least done today - daughter being very reasonable about bench time (they want help with their first mortgage). Bright start here - lets hope it lasts.

The good old Bank of Mum and Dad. Fortunately the things we get for are fairly modest.....;)

Andrew - We have to sign up for a joint mortgage, otherwise they can't get one. Fortunately we won't be contributing financially (as yet!). We've just paid ours off and we we're just beginning to enjoy a bit of financial lee-way as well.

Understand! We've still got 10ish years left on ours.

I work for the finance arm of a premium car manufacturer and joint applications for the same reasons are not uncommon. Needless to say I hope everything goes smoothly with the house purchase.

The legs:

The base is an old Verlinden one from the spares box. Just the hands and rifle to do now.

The FeR 1/16 bust has arrived in the meantime, and as it happens it's too small anyway:

I might paint it as an appendix to this thread.
