Scale is “elastic” in most gaming pieces Andrew. The ground scale in the games is also truncated, so one building really represents a built up area. They tend to be kept smaller so they take up less real estate on the ground. Looking at that one with fresh eyes, in comparison with the farmhouse, it looks as though the building should be fifty percent wider and higher…..in isolation it will look fine, but it is a gaming building not a scale model…..
Hi Tim

Understand and it makes sense in lots of ways.....it does though look undersized as you say. It would probably look better without the window surrounds but too late for that.

I was planning add stains too. I tried it on my farmhouse but need to refine the technique a bit.
Paint the stain and wipe it downward with your finger while the paint is still wet. This works very well to make it look realistic, compared to using a brush only.

Thanks guys ! I'm pleased that you all are pleased ! Looking at the pics, I'm inclined to add a smaller blemish or two to that passenger-side front fender, looks a bit out of place considering the rest of tbe damage .... Thank You all for your encouragement ! :smiling: :smiling:

Hi, decided finally to scratch the safety railings than to get PE ones.
20220518_120809.jpg
Found this window netting repair kit and stuck on fine mesh veil from the haberdashery...
20220518_120640.jpg
Primed in black and dry brushed in the ship hulls grey catching a bit of the fine netting.

And the results look okay.
I know its been a while and just had to pick this up with the local ship GB creeping up. One of the participants will be driving down from Penang so will take it up to the eventual owner. He said it wasn't necessary for PE or rigging but I can't just leave it alone.

Cheers,
Richard

Well Matilda has Waltzed of to the completed section and at the moment my bench looks like this:
20220520_123408.jpg
I think I need one of them sprue holder rack thingies!
20220520_123351.jpg
I have a new cutting mat someplace. Do you thing I can find the darn thing!
20220520_123359.jpg
As you can probably work out I like to build as much as I can befor I even start the paint process. Its just knowing where and when to stop. lol.

Got to love (or hate) Bronco kits. Regardless of how many parts there are on my bench built up, there are still almost as many still on the sprues!
A lot of them Microscopically small! Also some typical Bronco PE madness with Injection moulded wing-nuts and PE tie downs- 3mm total length and needs four bends..... thats a hard pass from me. lol

Cheers.

I’ve got sprue holders, by the way. They are the boxes the kits come in :tongue-out3:
Same :smiling3: I put the box, with the lid open, to my left and leave the sprues in it, then just rummage through to find the one I need. This doesn’t work with those end-opening boxes Revell insists on using, though, so if/when I build a Revell kit, I usually put the sprues into a box from a previous kit instead.

I never thought about buying a sprue rack just made one myself from a few scraps of wood and an offcut from a plastic wall cladding panel.

Andy.

I could have done that too Andy, but added one to the shopping cart to get free postage. Guess I'm a lazy old Git............................
