It's certainly going well - don't worry about having a spare kit, they're always useful!
Can't wait to pop up and see her on the pond!
HI Gerry well ive not really got a spare kit as i keep fogetting she has four seaking on her an they will be a job to fit on as the seaking is fairly big even in 1.72 scale well Gerry its comin ABOUT another year an a half an she should be done barring anything unforseen as she's gettin heavy now so got to watch my back pain dont start off an yes be nice to meet you

There's nothing average about this, Chris, don't be so modest!
HI Neil well thank you for saying so an modest well thats just how i am an ive been told by several people that im too modest for my own good but i term other people models on here just as good as mine as i may not say much but i enjoy seeing their work as they are out of this world as thats what presses me to try as best i can an im really glad i took the plunge an jioned this forum as im a shy guy to be honest due to my hearing but jen helps me get by ( love her )

Chris, if I may ask about your hearing, do you also wear hearing aids, or is it more than that?
Please tell me to mind my own business if I am being rude asking.

Yeah........wot they said! :tongue-out3: Excellent progress, hope to see some flashy lights on it soon :thumb2: Rick H.
AN Cheers Rick yes im glad you also like what im doin an yes there will be flashing lights on the chopper but ive got to think ahead on this seaking as its not so strong as the merlin kit so im gonna have to fit in some brass 2mm rod to give them undercarrige outriggers more strenght as that where the 4 gold eletric pick up pins will be 2x 3v for the motors an 2x 6-12v for the leds lights as they are 12v but work good on only 6v so see how bright they are on 6v if not good enough then i will change the voltage to 12 v on them. so im thinking of on both sides of the undercart out rigger i will strenghen them with a layer of maybe 2mm plasticard to take the gold pins fitted in an the eletric wires will come out of the tops an then into the fusalarge to jion up with all the postive an negative wires an resistors in there an by gum its gonna be fun trying to get it all togeather i'll be a bundle of nerves but will glue it together a stage at a time if possible
ATB to you also kind Sir for takinen an intrest in this build

HI Garry no you not bein rude at all as this hearing bussiness ive had for the last 30 odd yrs but jen helps me get through but still cant get used to it an yes i wear a hearing aid in my right ear but a bung in the left as its to help with my balance as my hearing in my left ear has gone due to age an more so that when i was young straight from schooll at 15 yrs of age

was bunged straight into a real nisioey factory an back in them day no ear plugs an as i was a welder could not wear the big earmuffs as due to wearing a welding helmet so the niose got me as it was so bad we had people 2miles away complaining of it when we worked 12hr shifts all night but when you are young you dont think how it will affect you later in life do you an that what happen to me best i can exsplain it but i get by with hearing just as long as people speak up an look at me as sometimes i lipread an yes it can be embarrasing but just got to live with it hows that

Thank you for understanding Chris, I too have worn a pair of hearing aids for the past 20 years, after a lifetime in the construction industry and a spell in the army, my hearing is pretty shot as well.
I learned to lip read, and enunciate properly a long time ago, as my son started going deaf at about age 5, and he has had to wear powerful hearing aids all his life. Today he told us that at last he is going to have a cochlea implant, as his hearing is now virtually non existent, he is 49 this year.
I am very proud of him, he didn't let his disability affect him, accepted that he had a problem, decided that it would not hold him back, and he became a successful solicitor.

OH IM SO GLAD Garry that your son dint let his hearing affect his life and he became a successful solicitor. its really nice to hear of sucssece in deaf people as im a bit of a coward really as we got invited by a boat club down in london as i told them i had built a big USS NIMITZ aircraft carrier at nr 9 ft long in 1/144 scale an they said yes bring it along to a show well the people really liked it as it had a lot of working functions an jen had to work that day so my mate richard came with me an the model was causeing quite a stir among the public an so many asking questions an i could not handle it so i asked my mate richard to take over while i hid behind a tree lol an that true as they thought richard had built it but he kept pointing to the tree an poeple could not make out what he was on about in the end i had to come out of hideing lol an another time on my NIMITZ again in a show to cut a long story short i had been set up by a freind as he knew id run a mile as i won best model in show up at glassgow model show an they all the people all waited till i was shoved in the tent an they all had their camras an phones up to take a pic of me me bein presented with this trophy an honestly i wanted the ground to open up an swallow me boy was i red faced

I fully understand Chris, I was like that as well, then I found out that by telling people up front that I am deaf, and struggle to hear them, and they need to talk directly to me so I can read their lips, for the most part people have been very accomodating, and it helped me immensely.
I used to get frustrated by noisy environments as well, but new hearing aids with proper tuning and adjustment helped with that.
