A break from RAF stuff with a cuppa 38(t)

8 wingy things on the trot with the last 3 being WW2 RAF builds I've decided to take a wee break with a wee tank.

I have the Legend stowage set to go on this as the only AM stuff I'll be adding.
Plan is to build this in the hotel Monday and Tuesday night this week then paint it when I get home.

Nice little tank Karl. Built the Italeri one ages ago and added command tank radio antennae.
Modelers wives can rest assured that their husbands are in good company on outstation assignments.

Built quite a few variants on the 38(t) chassis, mostly Tristar/hobbyboss, so definitely looking forward to see how the Tamiya version goes together

Feck, never even considered that, it's not real marble so TET will kill it.......

You could cover it with a blotter and then put your cutting matt down and be double protected.

Nah, sprue cutters, scalpel with spare blade and a nearly empty bottle of TET.

Missed this until a minute ago!
Unlike EVERYONE ELSE ON THE PLANET it would seem, I've not done one of these!
Looks very nice judging by the boxart,and being Tamiya it'll probably fly together.
I'll enjoy following this !

Turret parts, some nice crisp rivits and a single piece slide moulded main gun.


Hull top, again lots of crisp detail, and a not too shabby commander figure.


Road wheels, some track and some stowage, 2 of these.

The rest of the link and length track, nice sag on the top run.

And the hull, no tub on this kit, a firewall but no engine, haven't liked but I'm sure there's one out there in AM land.
And then the decals, polycaps and possibly the smallest etch fret in the world.*


*I've seen smaller for glasses for 1/35 figures.

The one piece main gun is a nice touch.... always hate the job of getting a two piece one to look decent, without buying an AM brass one of of course!

It gives the impression of only being the size it is because they needed to fit the number along the bottom edge

But think of it this way: better to have just this one piece for something where it makes a difference, than having a huge sheet that you won’t use even half of …

First 4 steps complete, flying together with very little room for error, pay attention at step 1 to follow the recommended order of assembly.

Out of the two marking options, both in Russia, one has a bow MG and one doesn't, so not much in the way of options to be aware of while building.

One track run done, no gaps at the end of the run either, always a risk with link and length.
Hopefully it will all stay together when I remove it back off the hull, no wheels glued in place.

The kit looks to have some nice details….I was surprised to see the hull made up like that but you seemed to have it licked into shape
