Having a look at the forward mast it was just as flimsy as the rear one so had a go at sorting it ,made a new one using 1mm, 0.8 and 0.5mm brass rod ,some 0.5 aluminium sheet and a little bit of pe offcuts and theres a bit of the original mast in there too.not finished yet, with the aid of a cordless drill and various sanding sticks and papers ive started tapering the yard arms.

A little update, the rear scratchbuilt mast is fitted and doesn't look to bad considering after it was ca'd in place i had to wrench it out because some idiot glued it facing the wrong way!! Oops.thankfully the rest of the ship stayed in one piece . Cranes and carley floats (think thats what there called) fitted and started painting the rest of the boats but will have to make some mounts for two of them as there is none

Thanks chaps, still a lot to learn as far as building and weathering ships but learning a lot with this one
