Hi Andy,

Sorry I haven't posted earlier, I have been quietly watching this come together and have to say it's very, very impressive...

One small question, sorry, may I ask, why on the console do you have one Philips head screw and the rest are flat head screws...

Lol, you spotted that Andy, well done. The were all the same but that one was hitting the back wall so I cut it down and then it flew across the workshop. I should change it I know. Was being idol. I will do it for you.

Cheers

Andy

LOL I saw that as well.

I have no doubt that you can build a better radar than the kit. In fact I recon for your next project you should just scratch build the lot.

Looking good in the wheel house.

Day 60

Thanks Joe. I have completed the fitting of the handrail but it stays off until the wheelhouse is painted.

I have now added several coats of\primer to the wheelhouse and will paint the top coat tomorrow.

I looked at changing the design of the radar but didn't see anything that I could use. I did rebuild it and added the light inside as mentioned before. You will see from the second pic the light is in and showing position on the radar screen.

Next is the radar boom. This is static in the kit and I wanted it to work so I had to make a modification and insert a motor I purchased at the boat show a few weeks ago. It is taller than the housing but with a few bits of plastic I think I looks ok.

The last picture shows its rotation and it seems like it is spinning fast. I assure you it rotates at a very realistic speed.

Day 61-63

Thanks guys for the kind words. I have now painted the wheelhouse and it has had almost 48hrs drying time and will be ready to start working on tomorrow. Also the last few days i have been doing some painting and making a few of the fiddly bits.

Hi Andy,

I agree with Mr Ron, this is brilliant Sir, I have had to use a bandage to hold my jaw... ;)

May I ask, is it a real hose or is it moulded plastic...

Day 65

Thank you all for the great comments. Andy the hose is white metal painted with acrylic paints.

I have now completed the wheelhouse apart from the seat and pilot. This will be next on the agenda once I have completed the wiring terminals underneath.

The first thing I wanted to do was to install a trunking to take the wiring from the mast, search light and radar. I then added some conduits, conduit and junction boxes for that extra added scale touch.

Once complete it was time to install the radio gear.

Next thing in line was the dash and other bits.
