Thanks for the explanation, Paul.

But are other sweepings available?

Excellent work as always but do we get a hint about the squatters ?

One up my sleeve Dave.

I've started to add life to the water. I'm using clear silicone and 'working it' with a nail.....

I seem to have missed a lot of updates. Just had a catch-up, a cup of tea and half a Mars Bar. This dio is well up to your usual very high standards. Probably thanks to Mrs Ron keeping her beady eye on you. Love the bridge and the water ain't half looking good. All those sweepings from your driveway - you'll be down to pre- Roman levels pretty soon.

Jim, thanks for the nice compliments and also your humorous post.

HALF a Mars Bar? I hope you didn't share it with someone!

Yep, for sure, we have one shiny driveway.....

Cheers.

Has your missus worn away the bristles yet on that sweeping brush you so generously bought for her a few months ago?

Sometimes simple is best....For me anyway. ;)

Dave.
That sweeping brush? She has had another since then!

I've made me a diddy farm field gate. A bit posh, but I got carried away when marking it out!

Made from plastic card, suitable marked out with a pencil and cut out with a Stanley knife. Painted and weathered with kiddies acrylics.

Now here's a thing. This is the second one I've made.
Yesterday, I cut out the first one, went for lunch and when I returned, it had vanished - Honest!
I searched my bench, retraced my steps, checked my sleeves, all to no avail. This thing is just under 2" long. How can such an item simple vanish?!

Anyway, here is number 2.

Cut out and ready for cleaning up....

Looks good Ron. Now that missing gate. Are you sure you made it? At our age the mind can play tricks. You think you made a gate but in reality perhaps you had a little nap and dreamed you made a gate. :smiling: :smiling3:

Have you checked your sweepings bin? Maybe Justine has been a bit over enthusiastic with her new sweeping broom? You know what folks are like. Buy them a new tool and they just have to try it out!

Or maybe it's spiders as Scratchbuilder suggested a few weeks ago?

I'm surprised you haven't found it. It's the nature of our hobby that missing bits usually turn up immediately after you've:

1) Built a replacement or
2) Bought and paid for a replacement or
3) Changed the design of the model you're building so you no longer need it (like closed up instead of hatches open, wings open instead of folded, wheels up instead of down or hedgerows with no gate opening etc.)
