Great attention to detail Paul. A lot of work and research which makes this hobby what it is.
I’m sorry I’ve rambled on. I hope some of you are like me :nerd:
No need to apologise. This forum has all kind of modellers and we enjoy seeing what others are up to.

Very interesting description of your progresses, problems and possible solutions.
Your attention to details and your scratch building skills remind me another modeller or two on this forum... :smiling4::rolling:

That is correct (except for the Panther and maybe the Jagdpanther) but the Jagdpanzer firing point was only 1.4m from the ground.

A friendly debate is one of the many wonders of the scale modellers forums!;)

Some great work and details of how you went about improving the kit, looking forward to more.

Beware the debates tend to wander off topic and then we all get rounded up and have to return to said topic.

transl: This deflector prevents the sleeve from falling uncontrollably into the fighting space.
Is that an automatic translation, by any chance? ;) Hülse in this context translates as “cartridge case” :smiling3:

I haven’t seen or read any evidence of a bag being fitted.
TBH, it would always be safer to not have it on the model: if it turns out that it was fitted IRL, you can always claim this crew lost/damaged/removed theirs, but it would be rather more unlikely for one to be fitted when there were no points to attach it to.

Hi Scottie, I am pleased to be one its residents! :tongue-out3: I live but 2 miles from Maidstone.

My German dictionary says Capsule/case/container. For ‘cartridge‘ I have ‘Patrone’. :hungry:
Patrone is a complete round of ammunition, Hülse is the case only. In English, the case is known as the cartridge case because that’s what it is: the case part of the complete cartridge :smiling3:

So you agree that there should be no cartridge bag then? :smiling5:
I never claimed there had to be one :smiling3: I just pointed out that, it being a cloth bag, one could have been there because it wouldn’t interfere (much) with elevating the gun.

Nothing much today - well a lot of work for little gain…

The kit gun travel lock was all wrong in shape, dimension and lacked detail

IMG_3374.jpeg

so I scatched one - took all day…

also added head light cable which was pretty easy

IMG_3375.jpeg

The skirts have been thinned out re-scribed and/or separated and undercoated as well as most of the kit.

I had to fill in some bolt recesses and redo.

Thats all for now. Thanks for watching

Hi fellow meddlers of magic in the realm plastic  another tiny update. I’m hoping to crack on with the painting soon. The odyssey continues…

Added front fender supports and finished off head light.

That‘s all for now! See you all soon! :nerd:

Thanks Jim! I am greatly enthused by your and everyone else’s encouragement but strangely also also a little nervous!
