Not a great deal to show but it was small and fiddly today. Firstly the brace between the bulkhead and the radiator was made from copper wire, the insulation from some fine wire and etch from the spares box.
Hopefully these pictures are a bit better and you will see the other detail that I mentioned earlier a bit easier.
Next some work on the engine covers. The kit has them both closed which seems pointless when they include an engine. The first thing was to thin the open ones right down, Then I had to scrape back the louvres as they were moulded solid. I did try and burnish one from thin pewter but I wasn't happy with the out come. Then a hinge was added using fine wire and the hinge sections were cut in the insulation. I still have some work to do on them but it needed to dry.
I have also started on the cargo bed and will post some pictures later.

Ok Buddy, so now you're just showing off again!!! The idea for the hinges is really cool Paul, stolen for future reference. You really seem to be having a blast building this old timer…...…..
BTW, I gave up trying to explain trucks to the boys. They kept going on about where you hitch up the horses to it and what's all this talk about this thing called an engine...……….....No hope!!!

Allen, Thanks mate, the wire is the thin stuff you get in telephone leads. I have a landline junction box near to where I live and there is always off cuts on the pavement. Lol the age difference and language.

had a bit more fun today. I removed the cast on hooks from the sides and replaced them with copper wire which was formed into a hook and then had the end flattened these in turn had a rivet added. A packing piece of thin card was added to the stiffeners as there was a gap at the bottom of each. Next the stowage boxes were built. There wasn't a lot of detail on these so I added the details according to my reference pictures, will do the other one tomorrow. There is still details to be added but I will leave that till the load bed is assembled as I will keep knocking them off.
