Thanks Mon , it suddenly came to me I had 3 left , they just add a little detail. Of course don't know if they are correct for the time frame but who cares:smiling3:

Hi John
Looking good. Little details like the drain do add realism and interest. As for your battle with the utilities company - nothing more frustrating.

Well after a total of over 4 hrs, either waiting on hold twice , an email which said nothing I didn't already know I at last have spoken, well chatted to 2 ladies who new what they were talking about. It transpires that the new fangled SMART LONG WINDED METER takes up to 28 days to work properly. Welcome to the modern world !

Meanwhile the base has had a second coat of paint. Now dry after being in the sun.Going to leave it until tomorrow morning then give it a very light sanding.

2021_31.jpg

Started to cut out the window frames using balsa. Make life easier by using the cutting jig that is normally reserved for the foam board.

2021_32.jpg

Gives a perfect cut, have to remember not to press down fully so its set to 3 mm.

2021_4.jpg

All progressing well .

Thanks for looking in and the comments.

Dzhon.

John,
The base is looking good. The cutter is nice I presume it is part of a set with the straight edge (foamwerks). I hanker for the days of old technology when a human being answered the phone and put you through to the person you needed, and not picking from a never ending list of options with banal music and no one answering.

Thank you, useful it is, and well worth the expense. I find it hard these days to cut a 90 deg line in foam board.
Oh the music got me at times I'd have the CEO and board strapped in their seats and forced to listen to it for 30 minutes they'd soon have more staff .

Spent quite a lot of yesterday and time today cutting out the film and sections for the windows.

Earlier today I decided to use plastic sheet for the main doors and Bass timber for the backs.
Followed by a mix of light grey, a touch of black and blue ( baked at 108 f in a fan oven 9 Sorry wrong Forum )

This was applied with a stiff brush and the parts are now drying over night with a view of starting to long job of making the windows.

These doors are of course at a very early stage in the painting.

and the timber window sections , which I have made extra to allow for mistakes !

As an aside, modern AT&T has a horrible cust. svc. reputation; long wait times, poor telephony trees, layers of expertise to navigate through, but if you have an old fashion land line issue, it's just like old times, super smart pleasant folks first time. Ain't progress grand?

Hi John
Looking very good. You certainly have a way with modelling buildings. Cutter does indeed look useful and well made.
I do hope your "smart??" meter issues are sorted.

John,
Your house building is outstanding mate.
Thank you Paul, I've said it before but it's the only time I think I know what I'm doing !

It is indeed Paul, gone have the days of walking into the suppliers shop , now it's all on line, long waits and none expertise.

Looking good.
Thanks Mark .

Hi Jim, thank you, oh that Meter, well patiently waiting for the 28 days from installation to see if after I switch it off, then on again if the up date has worked .Must be a very technical long winded process ;)

Great skills you have there John, It will be a crying shame to burn it. :crying:

Andy.
Thanks Andy, not a lot of the building will be damaged by the burn, just the main joists and collapsing floors into the part behind those doors. One will be slightly open to show the internal collapse. The tractor itself will only have the tarp and wooden load bed burnt. Both will be done separately.
