Evening everyone,

I'm afraid I'm at a loss of words, but I'm going to do my best to answer everyone. I honestly can't thank you enough for the kind words and comments. I am totally humbled and blown away by them...

Excellent work on the rigging.
Thanks Mark and I have definitely learned a lot from the ordeal too!!! What have you on the bench now??? Or are you still doing the floaty thing???...

I took the plunge once Allen - my next hospital appointment is due soon - but (as you say) it was worth it No guts, no glory!!:face-with-head-bandage:
Steve
You poor soul Steve...I do feel for you and hope the next appointment goes well, Sir...Gute Besserung too!!!...

Fat chance there Allen, I do my own cooking and drinking right here under me own roof!! And the limit is one per customer once a week. :thumb2:
Wow Rick, but I have to ask...Is that one steak or one bourbon, per customer a week??? I was hoping it was one steak and a few Bourbons. Just wondering...

Superb result, Mr D!
And I don't want to do one either, although I do have a half-finished 1-32 Sopwith Camel on the shelf of doom....
Congratulations!
Thank you Neil! Don't you really think it's time to dust her off and have a go to finish it??? I know you could, and a person with your skills wouldn't have a prob there at all...

Awesome Captain Jack.Got more patience than i dear boy.Ive seen youtube vids with rigging and turnbuckles being fabricated.A guy from another club used to make wingnut stuff and he built most of the range.I live near Felixstowe port where the Felixstowes used to be based at the stationt here.
Carry on dude.Yo ho ho and a bottle of Bitburg.
Rich.
Hey my good friend, my patience went out with the rotary dial telephone and that's long ago. I do have a Feixstowe float plane from WnWs in the stash. The damn thing is huge too and prolly won't fit in the spray booth. Thanks for coming by and there are 100 better beers here, where I live, than Bitburg Buddy...

It's all been said,so I'll just add...
.... Superb stuff Allen, absolutely cracking paintwork especially :smiling3:
Thank so much Andy! It gets even better now. BTW, let Cohan know he's doing a hell of a job on that TBF Avenger too!!!...

Mr D I somehow missed this in its entirety until now..and so glad that I found it and after catching up…WOW what a tremendous build, paint job, rigging… someday I may have the courage to expand my horizons and build a wingy thing but I can say that you have made marvelous work of this beauty … I am kind of surprised that those “pink” tones didn’t throw you a little off balance…lol..she’s a beaut for sure!!!
You are much too kind Joe. I must apologize to you as I missed commenting on on your wonderful swimming rowboats with wheels build. I thought I had, but I guess my old melon doesn't work like it used to...Oh, and there were no probs with pink during this journey my friend. Hope you and the family are all doing well in uptown Pennsy...

Came out sooooo excellent. Great piece of work Dude.
Thanks Bro! I don't think I have ever held my breath so many times, in my entire life, doing the rigging on this puppy. I think my face still has a blue tint to it...

Take a bow my friend that is beautifully neat work.
I wish I could take one Paul, but after bowling last night, I'm a hurtin' pup!!! It's always fun to throw your balls down the alley, but you pay the price the next day. Thanks Brother...

This is looking totally and utterly splendid. It will look even better inserted into a 1:32 diorama of a WW1 aerodrome. Just saying !
Wow, thanks so much Colin! I have a plan to add some figs and maybe a small base for it. I would love to do a dio, but living in a small apartment puts the damper on anything bigger I'm afraid. It would look great with a hanger behind it though...

After dinner, I will post an update of the progress. Here is a pic as a teaser till then,

IMG_3732.JPG
Here are the parts that are left over from the kitset build, including my feeble attempt at painting the lacing on the wheel hubcaps...Till later..........

Oh wow, I must have totally missed the Fiat Mark. Sorry about that. I'll have to go back and check it out for sure. Seems I can't keep up with nothing on here. The Gloster sounds like fun though Sir!!!...

I can fully understand that Rick. Ya gotta keep 'me happy my friend, or there could be hell to pay...

As threatened, here's some pics from the latest progress on the wing thingy. As I posted before, there was always a lot of little crap that needed paint and to be added later. The landing skid,

IMG_3721.JPG
Added a few mud splatters while I was at it. Next was the boom boom stuff and holder for the stick grenades, along with the observer's MG ring,

IMG_3722.JPG
IMG_3723.JPG
Then it was time to make sure she had some gas in the tank. Only a bit over 4/5 full though,

IMG_3724.JPG
Also time to finish up the front end. Add the last tidbits and the other rad hose for the DB engine,

IMG_3726.JPG
Then it was time to give the observer a couple more of his toys. The flare pistol and his MG,

IMG_3727.JPG
IMG_3728.JPG
I need to clean up the glue spot on the bomb rack, and do a few more paint touch ups all around. The last biggie was mounting the steering fin thing and the stringy work on it too,

IMG_3729.JPG
I had to clean the paint out of the holes because the string wouldn't thread through them. With my trusty tweezers, CA and patience, I got the job done,

IMG_3731.JPG
My baby is rigged and ready for the last steps in this build. Then it's on to doing up a couple of figs and a little base to finish it off. Thanks again for following along. That's it for now...

Prost
Allen, enjoying a cold one...

Amazing work Allen. You must be very happy. Looking at the details you can see why the kits are expensive.

Did I hear base and figures?...this is where I come in Allen, indeed a really long catchup read before I could start posting.
You've done a great job having gone through rough patches and all including the 2-0 Footy loss. Yup, Infini is great to work with...used it on all my ship rigging for Kure Harbour. Dig those D-Day stripes on the tail. Obviously one neat and patient build that have had some squirm in their seats thanking that they only will remain single winged builders. But they have to try at least one WNW kit to know how well engineered they are.
Looking forward to seeing those round things go onto those spindly leg attachments for the finish and see you work on the base.

Cheers,
Wabble

Youngerthanme,
Well you have done it this time, bet even you are amazed it did not finish up on the shelf of doom. What an excellent job you have done. I know WNW kits are good quality, but you have through hard work improved that quality with quality of your own - well done, and I am sure it has inspired a lot of us to dust off those boxes in the stash.
Now can you remove that photo, the one with your full and frothy specimen glass in it....
Prost

Late evening all,

I have my laptop back and my son has really hooked me up. A new SSD hard drive with 1TB, partitioned, so if my windows 10 pro goes crazy, all my data is saved and not to be lost. He added a few other goodies and I am back in business. It's running like a Porsche on steroids now! I have been transferring all my saved data back on to it and it is taking a while...
I will answer all of you personally in the morn. Here is a little idea of what I want to do for the Halberstadt with figs,

IMG_3733.JPG
No, I won't be adding a grass cover to the mat for a base. Oh, and the Hooker Header has to get glued on the motor. I almost forgot about it...Thanks and have a good night...

I hope you mean that you have a second drive that you make regular (preferably automatic) backups on? Because if you don’t, you will be SOL if that SSD fails.
