Steve - thanks. Trying to follow the process set out in the Mig Ammo books to see if I can get anything that looks roughly similar - the vague bits and/or the contradictions add to the general confusion
John - you could be right. The main thing they add is consistency. The various washes etc stay the same each time they are used whereas home mixed ones don't tend to. Remains to be seen whether this will help me achieve a better finish in the end
The stickiness was finally gone so last night I gave it a coat of ochre for light sand filter, which is just a really thin wash
Day off work again today - another medical appointment - so should be able to try the next step this afternoon
