This is completely new territory for me due to the fact that I have to build a lot of the PE parts where as if I made the kit OOB it would have been just a piece of plastic

Now most of you would think this is no problem but for me it's a daunting task and I've not had the best of success with this kit and this is my fourth attempt at this particular kit, now the deck is no problem as it's sticky backed and has all the holes and upper deck precut so it's just peal and stick.

Let's just hope I have better luck with this one

Take your time. Read the instructions REPEATEDLY. Dry fit every thing and you'll do fine.

Just remember if in doubt ask. And take photos...

Cost was £120.00that included P&P from Beijing so if I stuff up it's one heck off a lot of money to lose.

I have made a start this took me 2 hours to fit.

The standard kit of this had over 700 parts to it this will have more because instead of having one molded peice the PE has about 3/4 peices.

If you say a 1000 pieces that works out at just over a penny a piece.Bargain.

As Ian writes, please take your time. It doesn't matter if a stage takes two hours or two days, as long as it looks right and you are happy with it.

It's nice isn't it , apparently it's cut by laser and the marks on the deck are made by the laser using lower laser power

It's taken me an hour and a half to to do 17 peices looks like this is going to be a long build

Dont worry about it I have a Snowberry that has sat at the desk for three years...I think it will need dusting off. This too is now 10% kit 90% add ons.

So trust me take your time and dont rush or you to might 'burn out'.

I intend to take it very slowly lads , I hope to spend a couple of hours or so on the difficult bits then have an hour break building other bits and painting the hull , that way it gives my brain a chance to recover from starring through magnifying glasses some of these PE parts are very small and after a while your eyes get sore , sometimes a change is as good as a rest

Hears an update .

All the PE is now on the deck apart from the break water but there are quite a few peices to that so I'm going to leave that untill I'm in the right frame of mind

Masking up for the waterline complete , it's a pain with this kit due to there not being any guid marks for the waterline also those struts get in the way when masking buts it's done now and it's pretty level so can't complain

Nice one Alan, I like boats and prefer marine...wrecks mostly lol. This is a cracking start, have you varnished the deck prior to fitting or is it pre-done?
