Unfortunately John there are inadequate people out there who find that the only way to improve their low self esteem is to try and make others feel bad. They are the type that haunt on-line communities, where they hide behind a pseudonym, and don't have to face the consequences of their anti-social behaviour. They are always right, never in the wrong, and are always being misinterpreted. Perhaps most significantly, they never seem to present their own work for inspection, which says enough.

I personally no longer look at other sites. My work has been badly criticised elsewhere, which is very deflating, but here we all behave like decent human-beings who appreciate the skill, time and sheer effort that goes into what we do. Encouragement and support is what it's all about and on this site we look after one another.

You are a great modeller, a key member of the community and a true inspiration.

John, ignore the critic, what does he know he is only a building engineer. ;) Your work is nothing short of brilliant and as long as it pleases you that is all that matters at the end of the day even though we all know how good it is.

Andy.
“Only a building engineer”....well, probably means he’s played with his lego a few times.....

I really like your dio work. I think it is excellent. I reckon you are very skilled AND my opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. There are always those who massage their egos but criticising others.

I'm with Ron, John.
have you tried regular UHU?
Neil, thank you , no and yes to the UHU ! Had very little left in the tube. One problem is making the sheet produces a twist , this of course doesn't help when trying to glue. Think the best course of plan is to pin as well , then glue rivit heads over the holes when done .

Ron +1 here as well. Nothing wrong with rivet counting, but only if it’s you counting the rivets! Ignore them John. I stopped looking at that site a long time ago.
Thanks Tim, will do .

Like "dodgey" plumbing and "wonky" brick laying does not exist in the real world??.......this "Clown" is probably still living in his parents basement!!
Rick H.
Bless you Rick , thanks buddy .

Sorry to hear about all that John. We tend to be our own worst critics in this game as it is, without having more slung at you unasked for!

Your work always looks incredible to me....

Nick
Thanks Nick appreciate you comment.

Hi John,

Sorry to read about your work being picked at. Your buildings are really very good John, I certainly couldn’t achieve what you do, so hold your head high mate!

Unfortunately some decent Facebook groups are spoiled by the odd moron.
Thanks Si again I appreciate your comment and support.

Forgot to say John. Try evo stick contact or silicon bath sealer for sticking the corrugated sheet on the building.
That's a good suggestion Tim, I do have a tube of Sticks Like S**t if any will work that will .
Well, he says he is. Probably jealous.
Ignore him John, your work looks great to me and the rest of this forum.
Pete
Cheers Pete.

Peter thank you very much . I know you have indeed suffered at the hand of these types before.

John,
There is only one critic you need to worry about and that is yourself. As we are the hardest to please. Personally I think your buildings are the dogs and would be happy to call them my own.
Paul that is very kind of you to say that .

Evening Rick, depends were they are from ! The greens in this one are German Camo, seemed fitting to use that .
Grandson has given me for Christmas a Airfix Lancaster in 1/72 ! Can that be done in 4BO ?

Thanks, I’m fine just had a busy time with work and sports.
Hope you and your family are all well, with the covid and Brexit troubles hitting the UK.
Yes good mate, staying in and having shopping on line, with a few extras from some good friends.Glad your ok.

Hi all, what a day, been raining for most of it, so much in fact we have had to bring out the drain pump and put it into a net and pump out some of the pond water as it was staring to overflow. Don't mind a bit of extra water, but the fish will unfortunately end up on the paving. Currently pumping the water into the drain.

Managed to get the roof sheets on yesterday, started to paint them today. Also painted inside the damaged part of the building and and primed some plastic strip for the wreaked roof.

Complete with pewter valley !

Waiting to dry, so I could trim the overhang. Note the roof supports.

Today.

If and when it dries, the paint is taking forever. ( Used some cheap poster acrylics )I'd like to do a camo , yes Steve :smiling2: 3 PART !

Thanks for looking in, any comments welcome.

John.

Is it safe to come out yet??
I'd like to do a camo , yes Steve :smiling2:3 PART !

.... with a two part winter camo on top of course. ;) :smiling5:  :thumb2:

Well. Where shall I begin? for starters the brick work is incorrect where the jib is. The pipe work placement is wrong. There arnt enough rivets. The corrugated sheets should be made out of asbestos. The downpipes go up instead of down so insey winsey spider is screwed. No pigeon poo - whats that all about? and to top it all off Santa aint stuck in his chimney.

Apart from that mate it's totally awesome dude. Have a great Christmas and New Year and always remember my build - my rules

Happy modelling mate

Steve

Thanks Steve, love it .

More pressing things at the moment, raining so hard this afternoon and now that we have had to start to pump out the pond ! Been pumping for 1.5 hrs at 120 gallons PER HR ! and just about keeping up with the level.
This heavy rain is forecast to last until gone 2200 , don't want any of our 40 odd fish to end up on the slabs
Feel sorry for any one who is at river level.
John.

Devon is swimming as well at the moment. Saw loads of swans in the middle of a field today swimming around. Its another layer of hardship people are having to endure. Keep pumping Popeye. ;) :thumb2:
