I had intended to attack the river bank, but ended up tackling the old stone riverside promenades.
I used to same method I've used for quite some time now- paint brush ferrules. The pattern came out of my nut! I've tried for a rough, well worn, been there for ever, sort of look.
I've decided on a warm beige colour rather than grey, for the stonework.
Rough, initial painting done with cheap, poundshop acrylics.
The sad thing is, I envisage a lot of it will be hidden by rubble. But it had to be done.
The white bits on the paved area are where the buildings will eventually go.
I still have to face doing the other side of the river - Once my eyes get back to normal!
