Nice work JR. The oils will enhance the look. I don't think you will get very far trying to grow another one in the flower pot. You will need to buy them from a shop like the rest of us

Paul, you are not alone , the tracks had hardly any surface area for gluing, you can just see in the photo how little.

Right, back on the 2nd build, but before I start on that this for Rick.
Just used some washable white for the camo .
this is thew new model , slightly different with a modified turret.
Bit of engineering .
This Russian built tank came about after the capture of some French and British tanks during the Civil War. These had been used by the Whites.
In 1920 fourteen burned-out captured French Renaults FTs were dismantled, and replicated by the Krasnoye Sormovo Factory. Fifteen exact replicas delivered in 1922, called the “Russki Reno”.
The forerunner of the T18 was surprisingly the T16.
It is this that was the first version I have built, so really PARC models gave it the incorrect No. It is more like the `1930's version the T16 .
Like many early Russian tanks it was troubled by poor engineering, but this in turn led to improvements in their design and manufacturing methods.
It was equipped with a Russian engine licence-built by the AMO Factory. It was derived from the FIAT 15 truck engine. Many upgrades were made to the suspension and tracks.
Right on with the build.
The tracks , on the right it the PARC.
The first thing that you notice a big difference in is the bogies .
Every thing fits. well molded and quite clean.
Nice detail.
Single section turret, and hull.
One call for filling, no idea why.
The 4 outer hinge plates drove me to a second cup of tea , no way could I work out the upper one from the drawing, such a small foot print to attach.
Sorry Rick this is why no interior, just when I thought I would do one, oh well .
shot of the tracks, like all link tracks I will find these hard. There is call for mounting the turret section complete with the track guards on to the lower hull before attaching the tracks.
No way, so I've built that part up and will attach when the tracks are on. Just can't do them like Si does , removable for painting, but wish I could.
That's where I'm up to.

Now for today's report.
Thought I'd show you the other parts that I've built up, starting with the turret.
The machine gun had to have some sanding and cutting before it would fit the hole in the turret. Very small , so not surprised it needed drilling, just needed a couple of turns to clear out the flash .
The track guards are fitted with 3 pins per, this when I realised that no way would I be able to fit the tracks if this was fitted now.
Looking at the first set of lower bogies at the front you will see that stud sticking up, now it's on all three, but the first one clashes with the upper track guides. looking at the box art and the drawings it's quite evident that the first stud is too long. I've tried a dry run and either being fitted first makes no difference. Out with the saw in the morning , only needs 2/3 mm off and the top rollers will fit.
Not as much done on this side, just as I was going to fit the front idler I notice I had knocked off the pin .
Can't find it anywhere, so stuck a bit of sprue in the drill and sanded and filed it to thickness. Had to then make the first part with another sprue off cut and 6 mm x 2.5 x 1 mm of plastic sheet .
Looks a bit rough this large, but once on with the track guards support and Idler don't think much will be seen
More tracks tomorrow, hopefully I will get the top row on and get the curves done !

Hey wait a minute, where's the glue the black stuff, you've only push that together haven't you, nurse I can't see the glue I'm losing my eyesight, help, we need glue and lots of it.

Oh it's there ok Pete, worry not. When I fitted those roller thingies I put the glue on the inside, you can just see a very thin black line. What a difference between the two kits....the Hobbyboss Version is light years ahead
Shame about the idler mount doing a disappearing act on you....looks like you’ve got it sorted.
I normally leave those off or held in place with bluetac on the idler so if you need to, you can make adjustments when fitting the tracks.... doesn’t always work though

The second tank seems to have come together quickly and without problems - looks good. That's a good idea of Steve's to leave the idler loose to allow a bit of track adjustment. Good fix with the pin. Now you have made a new one the missing one will miraculously appear from the carpet monster's lair
