Paul, now I've had a second read through congratulations on the build so far, looking really good.
Question will the winch drum be working :smiling3:. Engine superb extras detailing.

Point of interest no one in the service bay had the slightest idea how to insert the dip stick once they took it out !
We would heat up compo tins in between the exhaust manifolds, about 2/3 hrs for a hot Irish Stew, while the others had sandwiches :nerd:.
Thanks John, I used to do the same tin of compo on the exhaust until one day I forgot it heard a bang and found stewing steak all round the engine lol.
Paul

This is a very accomplished piece of modelling. And I am also referring to Mr Race's glamour photo.

John
Thanks John, Really glad you like it. I think John was once offered a cover spread in health and efficiency.

Scottie!! You're still tinkering with the undercarriage and chassis...goodness gracious me, you've made it workable...just brilliant. :thumb2: You add anymore and people will start thinking the manufactures were shoddy on detail for this kit. :tears-of-joy:

Cheers,
Richard

Richard, I was quite surprised that it was made with no articulation by the manufacturer. Happy you like the additions.

Andy.
Thank you Paul

Arghhh!!. The joys of doing leaf springs :smiling2:

You've done a lot better job than I would have done. Lovely tidy work
Steve, Thanks mate the springs on kits are always the weak point, normally I don't bother to much but as this is on full view I thought I better try and improve it.

Love all the brake rigging on the bogie & all the extra details, just hope they will be visible on the finished model with the huge wheels on!:thumb2:

I worked on the main springs today. I was going to replace all the leaves but couldn't get the curve I was after so I have removed all the moulded detail and replaced with evergreen, lead wire and punched rivets. The solid hangers were removed and replaced to show the open section.

And a little detail added to the rope guide rollers.

I've said it before but I don't know how you do it.

Not only having the knack of knowing what details to add or change to increase the realism, but also having the skills to reproduce them.
