That spray booth looks a lot like mine. I think there are about ten companies selling them as their one. lol- work well though.

Cheers Bob, and thanks for your help with the booth, it's ideal.

I did my first bit of painting in it tonight. Only a 1/72 cockpit but no complaints from the wife about the lacquer smell
I put some paper in the bottom to keep it clean but the white is far too glaring so I'll look for some black card or similar.

And yes, I'm already shifting stuff around. I've brought my favourite 2 drawers in from the shed. They look very out of place amongst all the clean & shiny gear but they are the perfect size for Mr Color thinners bottles, my slops pot & cleaning kit etc.

I've thrown some masking tape in the top one for now but it will eventually house my MRP and S M S bottles.

My wife had some non-stick plastic stuff to line the drawers in the 'fridge, an offcut of which is in the bottom of my spray booth. It's blue, very near a match for the filter. I think she bought it from Boyes.

Glad you're up and running.

They may be the perfect size but I think you'll have to look out for a new, clean, smart replacement :smiling3: :rolling::smiling3:

Thanks Pete, I definitely want something to line it with. Should help to keep it cleaner too.

Glad you're up and running.

I've already had the RAL colour charts out. I may take them to work and spray it all to match the booth :smiling5:

By the way, TV is already starting to annoy me, it's just too big! I may be swapping it for my son's, which is smaller and on a swivel bracket.

LOL
When I set my booth up. "I'm keeping this one clean"! the only thing that really worked well was a blanket of kitchen or work shop towel but that had its issues as well.
DO NOT try wiping it down with your normal solvents/thinners. the plastic does not like it, or Tamiya airbrush cleaner (AKA Tamiya extra thin glue). LOL
I am om the lookout for a bit if 3mm frosted, hardened glass. That should be a lot easier to clean.
I use mostly Acrylics these days but there is still dust and splatter (I'm no pro sprayer lol), Spils and splats get wiped off as soon as, then its a regular vacuum to get the dust.

I'll no doubt set off with the best intentions and it'll be trashed in a few months :smiling5:

I really ought to find one of my colleagues with an offcut of 3M dirt trap. It's a self adhesive film for lining (full sized) spray booths. The "furry" surface reduces glare, traps dust, and can be replaced once heavily soiled.

More likely it'll be kitchen towel & spray mount glue lol.

My spray booth has plenty of overspray on the inside, and I don’t care at all :smiling3: That paint can’t gum up anything, so I just leave it where it is.

Very nice Andy, surprised you're not taking the hose straight out thru the wall . Its not beyond you by any chance.

I don't think the neighbours would be impressed with the hose coming out through the middle of their 72 inch tv mounted on the wall.... Hubby to wifey "By, that bloke said the 3D was good, that elephant could be in the room...."
Sorry John, just had to....

It's in the back of my mind John, but want to be certain on the layout before doing something so permanent!

I have a builder mate a few doors away that has the appropriate core drill if & when the time comes :smiling3:

I'm sure once the newness has worn off I'll do exactly the same :tears-of-joy:

Always difficult with something shiny and new … until it doesn’t look it anymore, then who cares? :smiling3:

I've had further thoughts on this.

The hose is going out of a small opener. Perhaps I could remove the glass from that frame and replace it with a upvc (or similar) panel, which I could drill through for a hose & external vent.

That would save me from having to open the window to throw the hose out, and more importantly forgetting to close & secure a downstairs window. It would also be fully reversable.

Or maybe I'm just over thinking it, as is my way.... :tears-of-joy:

If security is a concern, then you will also need to consider somebody punching out the hose and sticking an arm (or tool) in through the resulting hole to open a larger window.
