Update on Revell 1/144 Saturn V build.

Things have slowly moved along with the internal and engine parts painted. Now for image overload.

Now the first long session of masking for the black sections.
Ohhh superb! I can hear those glorious F1 engines roaring away now :smiling3:

well, Applied or not, new-to-me information can only be a good thing, and I'm happy to be better-informed now !
The whole M26/M46/M47/M48/M60-series used to be a major interest of mine, so I’ve built up a reasonable amount of knowledge about them. That’s the only reason I tend to spot this kind of stuff— had you been building a Panzer III or a T-34, it would have been up to somebody else to point out minor details like this :smiling3:

Personally I quite enjoy using the coloured extra thin types shows just how messy I am ,haven't used it for a long time has a lovely brush in the cap but it really loads up you have to remember to give it a couple of swipes before touching the parts. Dave

I like the look of that mech Dave, I'd like to do something similar soon. I've been looking at the MaK stuff but it's very spendy!

I'm painting another 1/50 truck for a mate. It was quite a big area so I cheated and took it to work. Automotive basecoat (VW Indium Grey) and 2K clearcoat, sprayed through my PS-290 fan-cap airbrush.

There's some detail painting to do and I'll give the curtain sides a less glossy finish.

Hi Andy ,I saw Herbert Herpaderp? build one one YouTube and was quite taken with it so got myself it for Xmas well I got it then give it to them(missus and daughter)they wrap it and give it back expecting me to be surprised at the present im supposed to think they got me.......still at least it was something I wanted. I like Herbert on YouTube he's a good old school modler who just enjoys what he does worth a blimp. Dave

And just for a change i used the red cement this time ,won't be for a while now but I'll use black on the next one.
As mentioned a couple of entries above here I did manage to get out and pick up some primer from the local model railway shop along with same manufacturers thinners oh and a couple of pots of paint you know how it is.
20240316_110619.jpg
So at some point the compressor had to be fired up , not to get caught out had a squirt at the practice turret did some sort of pre shade and filled in with some black camo ,then took the leap ,took it by name "one shot" never thinned it down did it proper for once and laid it down in 3 or 4 light coats(usually I'd try and lash it on in one)still not one hundred percent but looking forward to putting some green down.

Hello chaps,

Not been around for a while after a major mojo slump.
Started to get of interest back so have been slowly putting these together.

IMG_3277.jpeg

A Spitfire Mk.Vc from Airfix in Dark Mediterranean Blue and a Spitfire Mk.Vb from KP which will be finished in the markings of Battle of Britain ace Eric Lock.
Both have been nice to work with and I am starting to enjoy my modelling again

Cheers,

Geoff.

Just got this Trumpeter Flak Famo in the mail a couple of days ago. Been waiting for this in plastic for a couple of decades now!

Just off the bench now….28mm Northstar Elves…..a lot quicker than usual. I had no internet or phone for a week and it’s amazing how much more you get done…..
IMG_1917.jpeg
15 of them in about a fortnight, pretty quick for me. If I’d gone for a different paint scheme they would have been even quicker. Red and white need loads of paint coats to look half decent……….
More pictures here, including the obligatory calibration shot.

Next is a Ballista for the nasties…..

As some of you will know I had a bit of an accident with my U552 and she has been retired/scrapped so while I wait for the replacement I'm going to go right out of my comfort zone and do my centurion tank.
Really have no idea what it will turn out like!

With the Mojo flying high, replying to posts, and playing ketchup on here, I decided on what my next project will be. After spending over 2 hours, without luck, looking for resin wheels for another project, I decided on this one,

IMG_4219.JPG
As you can see, it's been started (in October 23), so not sure if I'll start a build thread for it yet. Something simple and a bit off the wall too! Oh, and that is a Kübelwagen in the pic......Klein aber Fein!!!...

Well, if it doesn't restore the Mojo Pete, you could build the other 27 Daleks you have in the stash to help....

I'm still up in the air here. While searching for the resin tires, I found a bunch of AM stuff for another favorite of mine. Now I don't know which one to do. This one with a twist,

IMG_4529.JPG
Or this one, my favorite Kitty, with the crap I found,

IMG_4530.JPG
The Friuls are already built and the Tammy kit should build up nice and quick without going stupid on the tiny etch details..........
