Don't worry chaps, Matron has stuck a big needle into the ship. It won't feel a thing!

Great post too.

A bit of 4"x 2" is an excellent idea. - With a rusty nail in the end!

Before I batter the ship about, and as I'm sure you good folks will know, I have to start to get the angle of the dangle correct in relation to the doofer!

Here's the initial attempt.
I want to try and show a bit of 'Caesar' turret just above sea level.

Using my cheapo version of a Dremel, I've also cut down the first Bismarck to a waterline version ready to put on a seascape. I've kept a bit of red to allow for any sea movement.

Chris. Don't cry mate.
I don't like my model ships full hull anyway. (Just my taste) ;)

So, the above is the first Bismarck I made for this thread. She'll be belting along after her encounter with Hood and the P.O.W. Little knowing what is about to happen....

You think this bit of butchery is bad, just wait until I get stuck into the sinking version.:hungry::hungry:

Quick, get yourself a drink.......

Cheers.

Hi Ron
You have quite a destructive streak in your character. I'll bet you were one of those children in infant school who pulled the arms and legs off the dolls in the House Corner. :smiling:
Jim

Jim. Yes, indeed. I also used to go 'Frog Hunting'. Find one, stick a straw in it's person and blow in the end of it until the frog exploded!

Well, not really.....

I take it you'll have the figure of Capt Lindemann on the bridge going down with his ship. Will you model him as himself or the actor Karl Mohner who played him in the film?

No answer really Dave. ;)
There is no positive proof that he was alive at the end and did go down with his ship, because within 20 minutes of the start of the battle, the forward range finder/ gunnery control received a direct hit. Lutjens, Lindemann and all the senior Officers were thought killed by the resulting blast and shrapnel that swept the bridge.

From this moment on, there was no further communication from, or with the bridge. This was the main reason why Bismarck's return fire was poor and uncoordinated.

In any case, the figure would be so small, I could model it as Mr. Hilter himself and no one would be able to tell anyway.....

Time to turn away, Chris!

Damage started with a hot safety pin and a pair of pliers. Then I caked the whole thing in a slurry of black Vallejo acrylics.
