Morning Mr Race,
I see Ruski renovations are at full pace now and progressing nicely:thumb2:
Greetings Si, thank you .
Hope you and the gang are all well. The good thing about this building lark is you can do a wash and then pop into the garden for an hr.:thumb2:

Stop Lurking this minute, Matron is about looking for Lurkers. :smiling:

It would be nice to see that again Steve, have you been away or just busy ?

Hi John
Another cracking building in the making.
I remember Stanley Unwin very fondly. For those who are too young here's an example of his genius. HERE

Good to hear you are ok, thought you'd been abducted by aliens along with your mentor " He of the North " to planets far away .:tongue-out2::tongue-out2::tongue-out2::tongue-out3:

Evening from the cool room at Race Towers. As it was so hot earlier I
had to wait until it was slightly cooler tonight before I attempted anything.
Results.

Still wet as you can see, not bothered with any end problems with the primer, the winter wash will hide most ! IMG_20190724_201053208_HDR.jpg
Think the cast markings are good on this, look very realistic to me .

First I had rubbed in some light grey pigment on the inner walls, they are staying greyish, the outer were done as well .Might just drag a damp sponge over the face again tomorrow. Seems to take so long to remove pigment, but over wet it and it's ruined.

Of course in staying the hull a wheel had to fall off ,par for the course for me .

I've left off the rear track guards, will glue those on after the tracks are on and pinned.
Will try to start the top coats tomorrow, can see the panzer putty sliding off ! .
Thanks for staying with this ..l
John .

Hi John,

that looks like the front idler wheel that has dropped off - you now have the chance to move it backwards/forwards to adjust the track sag

Very nice work John. Agree that the casting marks on the turret look very realistic.
Thanks Peter.

Thank you for that :smiling::smiling::smiling::smiling:, I'll let you know having easily removed parts takes much pre planning from the outset, unfortunately other parts fall off in sympathy
This morning I have glued on the steel work to the inside wall .Hopefully it will not be effected by this heat .
Keep cool all .

Hi John
Progressing well. Cast texture does indeed look good. Sorry about the wheel but if it does allow some slight adjustment to the track sag then as you say 'silver lining'.

Hi Jim, thanks, yes thought the casting texture was really top rate

Undeterred by the heat and with the fan on full I decided to do something to the build .
Glued the plastic sections on.

Then decided to spray.
I wanted to get that bluish Green like in the drawing , well not quite what I really want but once the washable white is on it might look better .

John .
Thanks for liking Paul, think the heat has got to every one !
Been up since 0330, too hot to sleep even with the fan next to the bed, no rain, thunder, or anything here .

Morning John - tis hot isn't it. Think I got to sleep around 4 - alarm went off 5:45 :sad-face::sleeping:

Looking at the picture above the drive wheel, back left, hasn't gone together properly - there shouldn't be any of those gaps between the two halves. Is it too late to rectify now?

There is a grab handle missing off the top of the engine deck as well - one on the right is there but just holes on the left

The front track guards would have looked better made from pewter then bashed about a bit - trust the pewter, trust the pewter :smiling5:

Hi Simon.
Arg you too then, still close here, even though we've had some good rain falls.

I've taken a close up of the back left.

15641533591914632302065317536873.jpg

Do you mean on the deck .
:disappointed2::flushed:
15641536978051650258259064228291.jpg

I see, well I couldn't could I , otherwise i'd have filled it :disappointed2::flushed::smiling:. oh bugger damn. didn't see the missing grab handle either.
I'll have a look in the box, or make a wire one.
:upside:
Now as for the missing Pewter, no excuse, just clean forgot :cold-sweat:, suppose I could say that half of the front won't be seen as it drives through the factory wall.

Now going to sit on the naughty step.

John.
